Hello there. I know of a few games that I am currently playing that I enjoy very much.

    1. Rappelz - free to play. I'm having a great time with it so far.  It's click to move instead of wasd which I usually
hate but it works supremely well in this game and is actually better than if it had wasd.  It has some interesting
classes and skills.  It does have some crafting - more in the line of combinations for enhancing stuff but it's a free
game so give it a try.  It's fun to jump into and play when you're bored of other mmo's.

    2. The Saga of Ryzom - it has a monthly fee and although I didn't play it past the free trial, I thought it was a
very unique and fun game. It's PVE and has one of if not the best crafting of any mmo that I've ever seen.
Some of the crafting reminds me of a cross between old SWG and Horizons. It's way indepth.  Plus the game
has the Ryzom Ring which allows players to create their own instanced dungeons for other players to play in.
How cool is that?  Very unique and fun game.  Has great ratings on all mmo sites.

    3.  Anarchy Online - My Personnal Favorite. It's a sci-fi mmo but it has a fantasy feel to alot of it.  Its one of the   best mmo's ever made. It has a great community.  It has several different plans. You can play the free version which comes with the Original Anarchy Online plus the first expansion Notum Wars for free.  Or you can pay the monthly which gets cheaper the more months you pay for it.  For example if you pay for 1 month it's 14.95  If you pay for 3 months all at once it comes out to 11.95 a month ($35.85 total)  If you pay for 6 months then it's 9.95 a month ($59.70 total) or if you pay 12 months at once then it's only 7.95 a month ($95.40 total)
They have great marketing ideas and their pricing is awesome.  In the free game, they pay for it by having billboards in the game with streaming video advertisments for like Coke or Nike and stuff.  It sounds bad but they did it in such a way that it really fits into the game.  Funcom is also making the upcomming Age of Conan which looks awesome.  I just can't say enough good things about Funcom and Anarchy Online.  You'll have to play to appreciate it.  It's a mainly PVE game with some PVP at the end game although you don't ever have to pvp if you don't want to.  The crafting is INSANE.  This game has more items and more depth to it than any other mmo ever created.  Everything pretty much requires items or crafting. It's really cool.  Plus, no other game has a Guide or GM that comes and greets almost every new player in game and asks them if they have any questions or need any help. How nice is that. I know how it sounds. I'm not a Funcom employee or anything. It's just that I've had the best times online with this game.  Give it a try and you'll see why.

That's pretty much it. I've played almost every mmo out there. Free or pay to play and I always go back to Anarchy Online.  I also enjoy Rappelz because it's a great game and it's free so there's no hurry to have to play it alot. I just play when I want to.  If you like cutsie anime games then check out the Pirate King Online. It's a cute anime style game and I haven't played it much but I am pretty amazed at the depth of this game. It has alot of crafting and stuff to do. Plus building and upgrading your pirate ship or ships.  It's different.  http://www.piratekingonline.com/

I hope this helps a bit.  If I think of any others I'll let you know. Take care and have fun : )

    P.S.
Anarchy Online is the only game that you can see an Atrox wearing a thong.  "eeek!"

City of Hero/ City of Villains

It does not meet your needs just yet but the next update 'Issue 9' is going to introduce crafting to the game.

You can play both games for one monthly fee $15 US unsure of European prices.

If you have both game on the same account you get 12 charater slots per server. 8 servers total. 96 charaters without paying anything over the monthly fee (this is if you import and play the US version of the game.) EU version has less servers and by default less charaters can be made. But even if you get the EU version or only play on one server you will have 12 charater slots ( 8 if you only buy one of the two games)

    CoH/CoV - Victory Server

    World of Warcraft
    Saga of Ryzom
    Everquest II
    EVE Online

All of the above have free trials if you dig around.  I HIGHLY recommend doing free trials for each of them before you make a choice.

i personally would suggest Vanguard: Saga Of Heroes, which is now in beta and is set to ship Q1 of next year. It is available in Europe and was created by the original creators of EQ1 if you perhaps ejoyed that game and is looking to be the up-coming MMORPG explosion without all the children of World of Warcraft (i'm hoping and praying). It's got good dev support and they're still adding more. It is, however, somewhat graphics heavy. If you can play EQ2 then you can play VSOH, though you will be on a low setting. There are both PVE and PVP servers as well as roll-play and regular servers so it's all your choice. If you're interested check it out the main website is,
    www.vanguardsoh.com
or feel free to send me a message and i'll expound on the topic for a great deal longer than you would probably like to read.

    1. I would like to thank all who took time to help us

    2. Some of the games listed, looked very interesting but I could not find the free trails for european players or free trails in general

    3. We have started playing wow and the game is amazing though I am often saddend by the maturity or lack of in the general player base.

    4. We have looked at LOTR but seems you have to pay to play only , after the costly mistake with AE I am not wanting to pay to find out if I like a game or not.

I would again like to thank you all for taking the time to offfer suggestions and comments.

I will keep checking back incase someone has another game or there are changes in the games already posted.

    Thank you

WoW has good crafting in it, but there are so many kids and idiots everywhere that sometimes it just isn't even worth playing at all. Not to mention it is such a media whore that I gave up on it entirely. If you can stand to deal with this though, it is still a well built game.

I will agree that Eve Online is a good choice, it isn't the usual run around as a person killing things type of game, but it is very good. I have a link to the trial in my sig if you are interested in giving it a try. You can easily find PvE content via traveling to systems with good Asteroid belts and killing the NPC "rats" that spawn within them, or go thru various missions.

The crafting in the game is superb, though I havn't actually tried it myself. You get various blueprints for the ships or modules that you want to build, gather up the minerals needed via mining yourself or simply searching the various regions of space to get cheap deals on what you need. You can also setup buy orders for the minerals you need and people will randomly sell to you via the market as well.

These blueprints come in two forms... BPC's and BPO's.

A BPC is a printed off copy of a BPO that can be used a certain number of times and are usually regularly available.

A BPO is an original blueprint that you can use forever and print your own BPC's to sell besides just building the ship/module you have the BPO for.

The market system can be easily searched for what you want and sorted by price or number of units or whatever you need. Each region of space has it's own unique market so if you are willing to travel you can find areas where can turn a hefty profit buying and selling. There is also a contract system you can search thru, which has various items up for direct sale, or on an auction which you can bid on.

Give it a shot if you want, the game can seem VERY overwhelming to new players though. So I reccomend looking up some info yourself via myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp which is the official sites main forum.
