Does it get better at upper levels?

Hi, I'm a CoH player. I tried WoW out of peer pressure and hated it for every reason. But coming back and looking at the Tier 4 armor, I keep thinking "That's pretty cool. I'd raid for that." And now looking at Outland from the expantion pack, it's like "Wow, I want to go there!"

But then I remember playing WoW to level fifteen and seeing niether of these of these things. There were no cool items to get in anyway nor cool place to visit. I was just wondering if that kind of content is there latter in the game or if I do have to grind all the way 60 to get to cool items and place. If so I think I'm just going to renew gamefly, they don't make me grind for games :P

WoW sucks at endgame.  WoW current state sucks.  Stick with gamefly dude... don't go to WoW... T4 armor will take 2 years to get or you will have to play nonstop for 16 hours a day to get it.  No eat, no sleep, no outside life with friends... Just lock yourself in your room and punch holes in the wall.  You will become a zombie and it's not worth it.  WoW, is a the virtual myspace.com for people now..the game just sucks.

Personally, I enjoyed the game untill I hit 60. Once you get 60 it's nothing but hours of looking for groups and raids that are hours long.

See but I only ever hear about the leveling addiction. I never hear about the zones or the experiences.
  • I personally enjoyed levels 40-59 the most.  But its not really all that much better than level 15.  A bit more interesting, more abilities, more places but not really anything new etc.

I wouldn't waste my time with the end game of 60.  I would need to be paid to play that steaming pile of game ruining crap.

So if you thought 15 was awful level 50 might be ok.  I don't see how someone could hate level 15 and love level 50, that would seem like a stretch.

Well the new pvp system now allows you to pvp grind for your grand marshall gear without pressure or any competition from your fellow horde/alliance. It still takes a ton of your time to grind for it tho. The grand marshall staff cost 44500 honor points and 40 AV tokens to purchase .. .considering you only get approx about 500 or so honor on an average (yes they nerfed the amount of points you get now in BG) WSG/AB or AV it will still take a while to grind for it... the good thing now tho is your honor points no longer resets every week but instead they accumulate and eventually everyone will have their grand marshall gear the only difference is how long they are gonna pvp grind for it. The PvP mounts now takes 20 of EACH BG tokens (20 WSG 20 AV 20 AB) and they still require you to pay (800g?) for the riding skill. The best thing that happened now is that all your hardwork won't be screwed by some no lifer GM who screw people over by  constantly being the GM every freaking week for the past 3 months. Are the pvp rewards worth it ? Definitely! They are equivalent to BWL/Tier 2 in epic quality. A casual player probably can pvp grind up enough honor points for a set within 1 month compared to the 3 months of constant pvp grinding from before.

well, you get your first blue items at around level 20, but if you thought level 1-15 were bad, i doubt you would like the rest much more.

i had a blast in those levels. there is plenty to see and do and even the starting regions are pretty big. as for special items, you get green magicals, might not be the best, but they have some variances. you get shoulder pads at level 14-16 if i remember right and that's about it.

but they go pretty fast and when you get to your first instance it is usually a pretty good show.

so... maybe you can tell us what of the level 1-15 experience you didn't like? what race/class you tried etc?

I love Wow from 1-59. I keep rerolling after spending a few months in a Raid guild and getting bored of doing the same thing every week hoping to get lucky and get an item.

The latest patch offers an alternative for those people that don't want to buy the expansion and want epics without raiding.
However it still is World of Grindcraft.

to be honest you haven't seen anything yet. real pleasure (for most players) starts when you hit level 60. i know it's hard trying another MMO game while you're playing "seriously" another and for so long. for example i downloaded CoH 14 days trial yesterday (2.5GB took some time :) ) and everything about the game was so damn irritating. the graphics, mobs, player models, etc...

i got my character to level 5 then deleted the game. why? simply because i know i haven't tasted the real stuff from the game and i won't be able to play it "properly" to get everything the game offers because i play WoW in the first place.

when you get to end game content real fun begins: you get to use some really nifty "last level" skills, you start raiding instances with people you got to know while you were leveling, you (maybe) get into a really decent guild and finally while you progress through end game content you start getting some very nice gear you mentioned. yes, it takes a lot of time and effort but it's worth it. it's the same thing you're experiencing it in Coh.

In the end all MMOs are made from the same concept:

    - you start
    - you level/learn playing the game
    - you meet interesting people
    - you hit level cap
    - you start ejoying end game content
