Thinking of coming back

Quit a few years ago, feeling nostalgic now. Should I rejoin now or wait til the new client is out? Do any shards still have good RP communities? tia

Nostalgia...thats what keeps me here!! lol, but it has always been a good game; not perfect, but neither are all the others that came after UO.  I have an account active and I'm anxiously waiting for the new client of KR.....If my subscription ends before the client, I will just leave it paused until the new version comes out, since everthing is going to look new for everyone...no need to stick to the old anymore!  But in your case, not knowing if your account is still alive or not, should start coming back and catch up with all the new things (to you) that have come to the game since you left (how long ago?).  That way, you dont have to worry about catching up when the new client hits and you can feel like your playing an even newer game image.

If you left because of the gameplay, graphics, or just got tired of it, don't go back. I played UO for a very long time. After I quit, I would come back every 6 months or so and realize why I left. Something worth noting: old UO was based on skill, the present UO is based on artifacts or hard-to-get uber items.

I despise what UO has become under corporate EA's direct control and the poor influence of the carebear bias Stratics.com insiders, but you can always give the game a go with a free trial on their homepage and see what I am talking about first-hand.  EA makes junk and Stratics reinforces it.
