My Everquest sins:

1)  I was a low level in Halas once and some noob logged on and found me working up my Alcohol Tolerance skill in a tavern.  The noob wanted a drink, so I gave him some ale and beer.  The noob wanted more and I told him I had run out.  But... I said he could simply "Beg" the bartender for more by clicking the "Beg" button continuously.  He tried it a few times and said it didn't work.  I told him to keep trying until he succeeded.  He did and finally all the NPC's in the bar aggroe'd on him, saying stuff like "It's barbarians like you who ruin your own lands" or something similar.  They dealt 300 points of damage and trashed him good.  He logged, never saw him again, but I had a good laugh.

2) Had a SOW on and was running through ECommons.  Purposely ran past the undead ruins and pulled a bunch of mobs, maybe ghouls, not sure.  Saw a lone mage sitting down and medding, so purposely ran by him.  Heard "WHACK! 50 points of damage. WHACK! 45 points of damage" etc.  Hehe.

3) Was in a group in which a healer had just rezzed someone.  Was standing in between them pointing my mouse at the ground, when suddenly I noticed I was holding 30 PP.  Guess it was meant to be the payment.  Pocketed it and said nothing.  The cleric and the person rezzed did not talk much after that.  Wonder if the cleric felt he got short-changed by the other player.  Ha Ha.

4) Was a rogue and would stand "invisible" on the treaherous stone stairway over the lava pit in Sol A dungeon.  Was trying to block those running out or cause them to fall.  Never succeeded really.

5) Many times, watched a player fight a "yellow" mob and die, then moved in and took it down for easy experience, all the while saying that I was too late to help or had lag at a bad time, etc.

6) Would shout "Train to zone" when being chased out of a zone, but only the spit second before I did zone, so it did nothing to warn others sufficiently.  Hehe.

7) Was being chased by a couple of mummies in Unrest and about to die.  Saw a noob fighting a couple of beetles.  Changed my path to run by the noob and shook the mummies.  Ha Ha.

8)  Was a paladin in a group with two other paladins and a troll or ogre warrior.  The warrior was doing the bulk of the tanking and during a really bad fight was almost down.  He requested a "Lay Hands" spell, but all three of us paladins said it hadn't recharged yet.  He died and complained, "Three paladins and NO Lay Hands?"  After he dropped, it was us, the paladins who were hurting.  One by one we cast Lay Hands on ourselves as needed.  Hehe.

That's about it, and while it seems bad, I will say I played four years and these are pretty much the few instances of misbehavior.  Countless times, I stepped in to save noobs from an untimely fate or otherwise help out.  But what the heck, once in awhile you have to be mischievous.

I will say I never had the pleasure of playing an Enchanter.  Always wanted to know what it would be like to charm a giant, park it at the dock in Oasis, then port out.

What are your Everquest sins?

-- Countlessly trained people over if they had some how angered me.
-- Had Newbs get squashed by vedors because of their begging attitude.
-- Watched players die and then stole their kills
-- Took someone to a wrong zone on purpose, because it was closest.  Watched him die >:)
-- Got a newb trunk and told him he could fight better that way.  Watched his ass die.
-- Stole some guys weapons while he was trying to trade with me
-- Begged players that were quitting for their items... it actually worked once and that sword lasted me from. Lvl-10 to lvl-42.

Pretty much the same old stuff that everyone else has done, cant do a whole lot otherwise.  It's fun to see this happen from time to time.  Makes you feel better =)!
The thing that bothered me most about this game was the amount of people that would ignore you if you had questions... that was somewhat stupid.
Good game non the less... I still have times where I wish I had played it, but the death system was WAYY too harsh for me to be able to stand it.

Too harsh? How so? I think SOE did a find job on it. I'm not so sure about EQ2 though. Considering that everything on your person and persona takes a hit. Decay Value, BAH! BAH I SAY!!

    oh... the sins....

    1. Watch someone die with a kill, waited until they were dead and took the exp myself.

    2. Stole the Ancient Cyclops from many a young adventurer in SRo only to hold it for one of my husbands lower level characters.

    3. As a cleric, if a particular person annoys me. I tend to forget to heal them, due to lag... of course.

    4. As a paladin, I got annoyed with a particular ranger in the group who felt the need to out aggro me. So I put on the worst weapon I could find (a rusy two handed sword) and stopped taunting...while also "misfiring" my Lay On Hands to watch him die many times and purposely lost the adventure so that he would not get the points he needed.

    5. If I found someone training alot. I would sit myself on the zone line and let them get pushed back into the zone.

Tons more, probably... Those are a few.

In my quest to become the most hated person on Xegony, I have alienated several of the biggest guilds i can find, why do i do this, cause im natuaraly a bad person, Its a rush to screw people over,  more fun then patting each other on the back and exchanging compliments like an episode of touched by an angel.

    great moments in bard history

Umbral planes, a truly epic fight with radir of a few lvl 60s, ch ching looted shadowheart,(this later got me killed in kael, but was well worth it)

Umbral planes again, next week same guys now with bigger guild, cha ching Velvet pants(they were catching on now)got medalion of faith hours later, guess not.

I reneg on almost any deal if i can get a better deal, i sold fake volatalis ashes i knew were fake, I train every possible chance i get, especially if someones afk.  I send tells to strangers saying "hi this is jim!" and then talk to them for an hour then say "just kidding" ive shouted free Virtue at bank, then when they got there ide say, "well wheres my free virtue?" Ive left song on in bazaar just to be a dick, not to get any skill just funny.

and the latest was the classic train in lguk, by my brother, charmed a frog sent him into fabled ghoul assasin then gated down to the Executioner camp where everyone was medding, everyone died was hillarious.

    the end

    Well...

    What piss me most was:

*random17* ask me for C or haste or whatever...

Later we got a train heading directly for me(or more often running directly for the cleric or the bard since they build up tons of aggro by healing/singing on me) and never understand why...(by buffing them, I gain all their aggro list even if out of running range, so when I will be withing walking running aggro range, they all come to me, now, since I am a chanter, I usually handle that, yet, sometimes we wipe)

Thereby, I was refusing to buffs strangers more and more!  To hell, go to Nexus/PoK if you need a fresh C! :P

All right well these aren't from EQ but they're from EQOA, I've never played the PC version of EQ.

    1) If a tank annoys me... yeah I don't heal them.. though since this is the ps2 version I can't blame it on lag since there's no lag at all in the game. Though I might not be able to type out my explanation because I have no keyboard... of course...

    2) Another situation where a tank annoyed me.. I told him I wanted to see who could hold their breath the longest underwater.. I said if he died I'd res him back.. he died.. I didn't..

    * I noticed that some people said they don't play EQ anymore bcause of the death system? I don't know how it works in EQ but in EQOA it's nice.. you get sent back to your bind point and you get a XP debt, it doesn't take away from your actual XP. So it's a lot less harsh.

    3) We were fighting deathfists and the tank somehow managed to pull 3 DFs instead of 1. The tank not realizing what he had done until he reached us.. decided to log off. The rest of the group died.. atleast I think they did.. oh btw I was that tank.

People on EQOA are nice and always helped me when I was younger, now I'm in a great guild, have made many friends, and really feel like I belong there. I'm sorry for those of you who've had a bad experience playing EQ. I really love it! (I started playing only a month ago)

OMFG you guys are bad. Especially the bard, a griefing bard is about the worst combination I can think of. This is a cool topic though.

My worst sin: I convinced many a newb to jump off the high peak in Blackburrow into the pit.

I know I'm lame, EQ was my first, I was so innocent back then. Making the run from Qeynos to WK on a borrowed SoW at lvl 10, kneeling before the Dwarfen King, seeing my first Mistmoore train of female inky drows in assless chaps, overpulls in Overthere, Naggy. . . Do you ever get that feeling back ?

If you ever decide you want to play again, you can come hang with me on Xegony. My husband is a 65 cleric, so there is always a free 96% exp res around... and every 18 hours real time (real time whether he's online or not), he can bust out the 100% res with no res effects.

My new SK (level 53) probably died 7 times in the last two days, and I still came out ahead on exp.

On another note, I could have sworn I posted a story about killing a little shaman on here yesterday, and I am apparently subscribed to the thread, but I don't see my post. image

I convinced a young rogue that if he fell from higher places, he'd build his Safe Fall faster.  I got him to run up to the highest level in Kelethin, and, well, he was like level 5, so...

It should have made a "Splat" sound.   image
