I got the 48-72 hour email too.  I still havn't heard anything after that.

Sadly, the majority of online players' definition of a newbie, noob, newb:
"Anyone that has been playing at least one day less than me!"

Really? That email was from mmorpg.com i believe. After that email a bunch of peeps including myself got an email from the ryzom devs asking us to submit our usernames. This username, however, also has to be your username for your ryzom beta-signup account. So you have to actually make an account with them, not just mmorpg.com. Then we got another email saying they will let us know 'if we get selected.' But I'm not sure if that email was a result of submitting my username per the prior email link, or just because I created a beta-sign up account. Oh well, don't care much one way or another.

I could care less about this game. There are just way too many other MMORPG that I want to try. This game would be so far down my list, that I would barely be able to see the name.

Yes.. Most of us know this :) I had already signed up for beta with Ryzom a long time ago.. And activated my username for my contest win the second I got the email. Then after doing this, I got the email saying I should get more information with 48-72 hours.

This is only beta, and I am a lucky person selected to participate, however, if this is a sign of things to come from them, then I worry :)

I won a Beta account from mmorpg.com.  I got the E-mail from the website, then I got a confirmation from Ryzom saying I needed to verify my username, blah, blah.  I had already applied for beta a while ago so I knew my username and it was verified in a day.  I then got the E-mail saying more information would come in 48-72 hours.

I think that was a typo and it was supposed to be 48-72 DAYS.

If Lineage II retail comes before I get my Ryzom beta, I guess my decision on which game to play will become a lot easier.

My thought is this.... I got into DAoC beta long ago.. Loved it.. Stopped playing EQ(although I was never hardcore with EQ) and have played DAoC on and off ever since.. Trying a month of E&B, but otherwise DAOC or nothing..

The games I am watching are: Dark and Light, EQ2, WoW, and to a lesser extent Ryzom.

Whoever wows me the most in beta stages(assuming I am accepted in to beta) will get my money, plain and simple. (Wish is very cool, but not my cup of tea.. beta 1.5 is crawling right now)

We are theoretically performing a service to companies by being beta testers, and our only reward is seeing the game a bit before release.

With so many games coming out, we do get lucky for all the special deals and such to get our money. All the lineage contests running, and free trial periods being refined it is getting to be an exciting time..

Come on Verant, Blizzard, etc.. make me happy and my wallet is yours =P

When I filled out info at Ryzom's web site (after winning on MMORPG) I also was told 48 - 72 hours. Figured that would mean LAST weekend...but nothing yet.

Maybe we're beta testing the way Ryzom interacts with customer base?

Oh.. and /bump sorta.. I just wanted to call the results if people actually read this thread.. I say WoW will be in first by a decent amount followed by EQ2.. :)

    Blizzard fanboys... bleah =P

Why wait till retail ? Open beta is 3 days away. Add me to the list of p-o'd contest winners. I'll prolly screw around with L2 until WoW comes out.

A little info goes a long way, Themis, one quick e-mail would have saved all the grief on these boards.
