World of Warcraft: Patch 2.0

StraddenStradden Managing EditorMember CommonPosts: 6,696

Blizzard Entertainment has released a new and exciting patch for World of Warcraft. Among other things, Patch 2.0 brings the game a revamped PvP honor system, new talents, arena skirmishes, a looking for group tool and more. World of Warcraft is arguably the most popular MMORPG currently on the market.

Our latest patch "Before the Storm" introduces the much anticipated all new Honor System and brand new talents for every class. It is the last major content patch release before World of Warcraft's expansion, The Burning Crusade!

Highlights of Before the Storm - Patch 2.0:

Revamped PvP Honor System - This new reward system will allow players to accumulate honor points that can be spent like currency to purchase weapons, armor, and various other items beneficial for player-vs.-player progression.

New Talents - Each class will now have access to all-new talents in each of their three talent trees.

Looking For Group Tool - This new tool is designed to assist players in finding groups for instanced dungeons and quests.

Arena Skirmishes - Players will be able to queue for small-group, gladiatorial combat matches by speaking to the Battlemasters throughout the world.

And more!
You can read the entire patch notes here.

  • I think the new honor system is a good step forward for WoW. It eliminates alot of the account shareing that went on when people were going for the higher honor ranks.

I think it's great they're finally making the honor system better for the average person, but they did a bad job with the process of actually switching over because players that had been working hard to reach there ranks with the previous system are being screwed in the process. It's no big surprize from blizzard tho screwing over the minority to please the majority ya big surprize right?

new and exciting patch indeed. especially for druids.

    Patch notes from downloaded patch:

    - The talent "Swiftmend" will now include bonus healing from the talents
    "Improved Rejuvenation" and "Empowered Rejuvenation".
    - "Feline Swiftness" has been renamed "Feral Swiftness". Dodge % increase now
also applies to Bear and Dire Bear Forms.
    - "Improved Moonfire" has been reduced to 2 ranks, for a 5/10% bonus.
    - "Insect Swarm" has had damage on all ranks increased. Mana cost of ranks 1,3
increased. Mana cost of ranks 4,5,6 decreased.
    - "Nurturing Instinct" now grants the benefit at all times, but the bonus has
been reduced to 25/50% of Strength.
    - "Omen of Clarity's" duration has been increased to 30 min.
    - "Improved Starfire" has been renamed to "Celestial Focus". It now also
increases the chance to resist pushback when casting Wrath by 25/50/70%.
    - "Blood Frenzy's" benefits have now merged with "Primal Fury".
    - "Improved Leader of the Pack" has been reduced to 2 ranks for 2/4% total
    health healed.
    - "Pounce" no longer requires the druid to be behind the target.
    - "Barkskin" is now usable while stunned.

    From official site:

    - The talent "Swiftmend" will now include bonus healing from the talents "Improved Rejuvenation" and "Empowered Rejuvenation".

    - "Omen of Clarity's" duration has been increased to 30 min.

i think it's about 2 weeks after drama Blizzard caused with "weapon proc and pots in beta was a bug". druid community was very excited about this patch after testing changes on PTR. but now another dissapointment from Blizzard.

and to be perfectly honest i didn't epect much from this patch. blizzard has already shown in the past they rather work on new content and release it (which is understandable why) than fix 2 years old bug(s) or broken classes.

    M00!

    Ah-HA!
    The "Infamous" patch 2.0 hehe

Personally, I am liking it! Although, I do miss all my old MODS.

Blizzard has come out with quite a few things in this recent patch, I am sure 'most' every one will agree, are beneficial.

Considering the up and down of all the Realms.. Peeps missing their old MODS.. Arena and Transfers being shut down for the moment.. it went live without too bad a hitch! image

As an old MMO gamer.. I have definately seen worse patch days, than this one was.. hehe

er... yeah, its called normal business practices. Besides, they've been catering to the minority (read: power-through-all-the-new-content-in-a-week-so-new-stuff-has-to-be-an-endless-grind-just-to-keep-them-paying type players) for a couple of years now. Might as well do something for the people who pay most of their bills.

EDIT: Whats with all the HTML codes?
    EDIT2: *SIGH* They're gone now.
