in Final Fantasy XI
Yay.. I dont wanna make this thread really involved, I just wanted a place to say that I came in tonight and seen that FFXI is in the top 10.  It's about time this game gets a little of the credit that it deserves.  Also, I wanted to add because I didnt know where else to put this.. people are always complaining about this game being so time comsuming... isnt that the point?  To have a game where I can play for I dunno.. its been almost 3 years now and still not accomplish *everything* is pretty awsome, can't complain about not getting your money outta it >.>. Anyway, added that aslo because I bet thats why some people rate it lower than what it should be.  Just for the record, I'll take a game that 1 game that takes me alot of time to get far, than 10 new games, just my opinion.

    It's not about being time consuming, it's about the game being horrid.  I was one of the idiots that bought this game, why did I buy it?  Because there is no demo to try the game!  What's wrong with the game?  You can only have 1 character!  How F***ING cheap do you have to be to only allow 1 character?  This game is boring, solo is impossible after level 10, mobs are dull, and I've never felt so ripped off for buying a game.

    uh.. i dont have any clue as to how this thread turned into a fight, was not even close to the intended purpose.. but... since it has been brought up.  First of all, dude, there is no way you can get to lvl 10 of any game I have ever played and make an even 1/2 good assumption on how good the game really is.  Second, FFXI has many revolutionary parts you are missing, such as.. you can make 1 character if you are to cheap to spend 1 dollar.. and make that character be a red mage, paladin, dark knight, warrior, monk, and (note i said and not or) any of the other jobs out there, instead of having to create a new character everytime you want to build up a job.  Aslo just to point out.. FFXI's monthly fee is only 12.95.... so you could actually have 3 chars and that would only take you to 14.95... wow amazing that is like the same monthly fee as 1/2 the games out there anyway.  My point to you is, you dont NEED alot of characters to experience everything in FFXI like you do in some others.. only REAL reason you need an extra char in FFXI is to store items really.  I dont know what your thinking but you make no sense.

    And thats why we have games like EQ2, WoW and DDO. For peeps who dont get it. The 1 character aspect is a major + but your are correct, your an idiot because you do not understand this JOB concept.

    Fact is, people are not ready for a deep hard game. Sure, they come to these forums and bitch every day about there simply game being to simply... but when a game like FFXI comes along they "Flail"

    FFXI is not complex, it's just bad.  I like games that are hard, not boring.  It's not that I don't "GET" this game, this game is boring.

    Oh and most people don't have time for a game as time consuming as FFXI, it's not deep so don't joke yourself.  Most people have a life.

    Although I don't like xIMPx's attitude he makes a point here, I played this game for awhile and loved it but when I had to acually do somthing in real life I had to quit, It takes far to much time to really get anywhere. But if you have the time it's good.

    And like he says hard is not how much time it takes to progress in a game if your just doing the same thing over and over again.

    If i had to take 10,000 algebra tests to get a Bachelor's in mathimatics it wouldn't be hard, just take a long time.
