I'd like to see a MMORPG based on Joss Whedon's Firefly series. Can't believe that show got canceled. On TV.com it's rated as the greatest Sci-Fi EVER. Any Browncoats out there who would like to see this happen?

    we need scifi mmorpgs, but i havent seen firefly. But a Battlestar Galactica mmo would be great, or no ?

    Hehe. I take it folks indeed want this to happen then. Cool.

    A Battlestar MMO would be awesome. As long as it had the look and feel of the original. I like the new show but that would be neat to see the classic made into one.

    A MMO based on old Sierra Online game worlds would be sweet too.

    If the search function actually worked, I would just copy paste some replies from my old posts on these threads. First of all, I think Firefly is the best sci-fi show to grace television. And It would work in an MMO if changed to some extend. We would need out of the box thinking and heavy emphazis on socialization rather than leveling. A feature that would be required is that you and your party can walk around inside your space ship while it's travelling. Perhaps there could happen random stuff on the space ship such as engine malfunctions and such, which then will a bigger part of the gameplay: Small adventures with you and your party.

    Stop this crap already, Firefly was just a spaghetti western in space and there's no way you could make a MMO out of what was basically a dynamic between specific characters. If you really want a good scifi MMO, Aliens is the way to go.

    I mean come on, most people who vote on sites like that also vote Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and other stuff like that.

    Sorry, but a Firefly MMO would kick more ass than Chuck Norris, as long as its not given to like, SOE, and given to a halfway competant company. The Firefly Universe is perfect for a MMO. The whole Series was on a group of normal people just getting through life. And it was interesting. It makes for the perfect open-ended MMO.

    Firefly was a excellent show, pity the "suits" killed it, very typical... As for "Alien" It looks like "Tabula Rasa" may have some of that vibe (or at least wants to), I personally don't really think its going to amount to much as it seems just to much like "Planetside"

    Oh and btw I think a MMO in the "BuffyVerse" could be great! (If done decently by the right people)

    I don't care how many times it's posted; it's still a good idea.  Hopefully someone will pick it up and do  a good job with it.  I'd play it.

    Because Firefly is so heavy on character development and the "feeling". It would be the perfect break for MMOs, to actually emphazis socialization, while still including combat and crafting.
