Questions reguarding low level groups

I just re-subscribed to FFXI and am currently updating the game.

I have been an on/off ffxi players since pre-US release.  I love
the games design/music/environment.  But the biggest drawback for
me has been parties.  It always took  me forever to get into
a party.

Since it's been a while I was wondering if it's extremely difficult to
get into a party at lower levels or if it's not to bad.

Last may I bought the newest expansion and started fresh, but only
played for a month.  i'm on Fairy server and will give it another
go for this month.

Any suggestions?

Most people start logging on in the Afternoon(2-3PM) to Midnight, So Thats the key time when most of your parties will take place. A large majority of FFXI's population are people who either Work or Go to school, So natrually they won't be on in the mornings. Thats not to say You won't get any parties before Noon, They're just not as commen.

This part I quoted from a Post I liked on Alla, Then added some Color to Important Parts:

It's true that less people are leveling low levels jobs, both because there are fewer new players coming into the game and because SE created more high level content to keep people with level 75 jobs occupied so they have no need to level differnent jobs in order to enjoy the game. But still, there are parties. Why aren't you being invited?

I think people who can't find parties are doing a poor job of marketing themselves. Your marketing is, basically, what people see when they type "/sea all inv level xx-xx". They see your job, subjob, rank, race, current location, and anything you write in your search comments (which may or may not get read).

Now some have the attitude that it's NOT FAIR that you have to worry about this stuff. Why can't you play the game as THF/WHM?

One of the beautiful things about FFXI is how it mimics the real world. Just like in the real world, you can't always do what you want in FFXI and expect people to approve or support you. That's the social aspect of the game.

If you want party invites, figure out what jobs are in demand, what subjobs people want (which may not be the subjob YOU want), how they feel about underleveled subs (hint: experienced players hate it because it screams "noob who's probably using a gimp underleveled weapon and doesn't eat food"), where they expect you to be (the best place to seek is in the zone where people are leveling--if you are level 20-24, walk into Qufim rather than keep your seek flag up in the Konchstat Highlands), etc.

One thing that doesn't help much in getting invites is better gear. People don't see your gear until AFTER you're in the party. Yes, you can put it in your comments, but they may not get read, and will certainly not be read if the party is looking for a tank and you're a DD. Usually, even people with totally pathetic gear don't get booted after they get invited.
