How to Make the Most of the Trial

sempiternalsempiternal Member UncommonPosts: 1,082
I was in the beta for this game and was not really interested, but would like to revisit it now, mostly just because I used to play D&D when I was a kid and would like to give it another shot.  Would anyone be kind enough to give everyone a quick recommendation for making the most of the trial period to get a good feel for the game?

One piece of advice I would give would be to tell groups you join you are new and to take things slowly, soak up the atmosphere of the dungeons, you will find people only too happy to assist.

Choose your character feats and skills wisely.

Do some of the solo dungeons at your own pace, get a feel for your character.

To me DDO is like a fine wine, it is something you sip, not guzzle down your neck.

Hope you enjoy it, good luck!

    take your time
try to join groups if possible (soloing is not that much fun on the long run and group play adds a whole new layer to the quests)
try to solve all possible tasks within a quest, instead of just rushing through - makes it much more challenging and rewarding
Don't see the leveling as the goal, but instead try to enjoy each quest

Well, thats about it, hope you enjoy it.

    Play
during the afternoon hours, you should find more players on then the
night time and morning time. Play either a Paladin or Fighter before
moving on to more complex classes like the Wizard or Cleric. Select a
shield and one-handed weapon as you'll find no use of two-handed
weapons at later levels. Find a team first and adventure for a while
before joining a guild because joining guilds is like joining a party
where you can easily find yourself with a group of A-holes.

After that simply play to your heart content until the trial is up.

Nevermind, I'm just going to mark you for trolling and be done with it.

The full game including a free month costs now 8 euro in sweden. Way better than trial and cheap
