The type of player I hate most in a game is the person that acts like they have never been a noob before.

They Act as if they where born playing the game and better than anyone new to it so they treat you like crap.

Me my self I like to help noobs out due to me knowing how it feels to be starting off.

This goes for all games in general.

I've always been peeved people who play to win, and not for fun. This includes those who make up their own "rules" so that whenever you break those rules, your win "doesn't count". Things like "NO HEALING", "NO X SKILL", "NO DOT'S".

This got especially annoying in GW when every single W/MO would accuse my ranger of winning "just cos you used pin down", and wanted a rematch where I didn't use it.
Sure, but then I want you to take off your armor.

I've never met anyone who hated people for their voice before O.o

I hate people who act like they are gods in a group/raid, even if they aren't leader. They'll ridicule the group leader or whatever saying "NO U NED TO DO THIS!!!111! omgz u fuxing sux". If i could, i'd shove my fist through my monitor and punch them across the world. Really...its quite rude and annoying.

Another thing...just like one has said already...if you play a game that has a PvP server..and you PLAY ON IT with your own choice and so forth...and if you bitch after dying (thats ok like "fucking hell i got ganked"..i do that too lol). But i REALLY hate the ones that say "this game is a piece of shit, freaking corpsecamper im quitting this game screw this shit".

IMO you are a dumbass. Your choice, you stuck your head in the lions mouth. And if you have that sort of mentality...you deserve to get ganked again in my opinion.

Or just play on a PvE server (this is a WoW example here lol...or DAoC). It's probably the game you want.

No offense to carebears though lol.

    I don't think I hate any players.

It's a game, peoples actions in games don't provoke a serious emotional response in me.

    .

Anyone who takes it too seriously.

"Hardcore" types. Not the ones that are hardcore, just the ones that aren't embarassed about being it.

    .

I don't really like people who insist that I must jump through hoops to play with them.

You know the type, if you are going to be in your party you must respec your fighter to have powers A, B and C. If you don't you won't get any of the loot.

If you want to play with us, you must give the best loot we find to the clan.

You must join us on teamspeak. You must raid with us. You muist change your name, and your MSN name and change your ICQ address to include the clan name. And register with forums x, y and z. Play on team B, everyone come here and sit in a circle. You must be online at such and such a time.

I tire of these kinds of people very very quickly.

    .

"We will let you join our clan on a trial period", says the bloke I have never met before.

WTF? Your clan is a big deal?

    .

I dislike rude people. Smack talkers, the kinds that insult you or belittle you. People who make the effort to show you or others that they are superior to you.

    .

I don't like to play with selfish people. Halfway through a mission, they get what they were after and log out. Screwing it for everyone else. Once in a while is real life, but there are a few people who do it every time.

    .

Obnoxious people. MMO's appeal to all shapes and sizes. Some people are just socially inept. They have trouble interacting with people. Life is too short.

Depends on the game, I guess. I know that at least in pvp mmo's like L2 and Eve, we don't let anyone in without knowing them first. When there are certain political aspects involved, you don't want random people just eavesdropping in on your guild chat and running off with your corp hangar.

My friend managed to infiltrate our enemy alliance in L2 once and supplied us with screenshots of their forums and guild chat, she even managed to get into their ventrilo and recorded some conversations there. Great fun.

    let me count the ways....

    Ninja looters

    griefers

    gold farmers

    l33t doodz

THE WORST KIND OF PLAYER = the ones that come to an RP server with no intention of Role playing. They are no better than griefers. They come to cause trouble and to fuck up the experience for everyone else. In my opinion the rules in any MMO should make people with numerous reports for harrassment and non RPing on the RP server KOS to all mobs and open to be killed by the general populous.

Thats how bad they piss me off.

People who play just for loot ,and will crawl through the worst crap ever put in a game to get it ,what gets me is they will do it over and over ,day after day just to get a stupid drop that everyone else already has . If you ask me people like this are wreaking mmo's, alls they want is the drop dosent matter what the game play is like ,look at WoW worse mmo ever made but made popular by loot whore's LOL

Persons who operate without a code of honor who will do almost anything selfish rather than the right thing, and all the quicker if there is no material penalty, they cause me to feel hatred. I estimate that 85% of gamers I've met are like this. The stories I could tell you about greed would only be different in small details than the ones you could tell, probably. Gamers are by no means the only group without honor on the internet and off, but gamers are who we're talking about in this thread. And, when gamers log off they are still greedy bastards and act accordingly in whatever they may do.

Most people who play games are under the age of 30, and of the games we play here I'd say the age range is between 10 and 25. I realize there is a big difference between the intellectual development of a 10 year old and most 25 year olds, so I would cut some slack for very young players who may not have clue about what's right and wrong. But by the age of 18 you should know what you are doing and must be held accountable for it.

I agree, there is no reason to hate any type of player in a game, except for a cheater.
  • elvigyelvigy Member CommonPosts: 249

As some have said, I don't really hate these types, but find them really, really, really annoying-

Stupid names (pwnzyu, nukezyu, BigBoner, john34393, etc.)

    Excessive leet speak.

    Beggars.

Wrong server for your style of play (non-RP on an RP server, carebear on a PVP server, etc.)

Those cover the majority of my pet peeves.

Dude, you spend waaaay too much time thinking about who's on the other end of the Internet, if you get what I'm saying, lol-----

First and foremost:  Peoples wearing (or having wear in the past) any of the following guildtags:  "Fire of Heaven, Afterlife, Legacy of Sorrow, Legacy of Steel".  That list is subject to changes and modifications.  Wearing the guildtag alone enable you to group ejection, to train, to KS, to harassment or anything devious and/or evil I may find, as to fight evil, you have to use the same technics.  The worst thing these guys can do is insist that I help them, as if they insist too much, I will eventually say yes...but they are in for a wiping session, not whatever they had in mind; since all "my skills" in making a group succeed can be applied in reverse.  And if you think I am mean with them...they start it; they start it all.  I am merely returning them the favor...and as a community they have to stand by their members actions.

Once this is settle...I hate peoples who are harsh.  See, I am as efficient as I can, which is usually quite efficient (I still have some stuff to learn, as every player, including these nasty above).  But I looooove noobs, childs, kids, new players.  If they make us wipe, fine, we will figure a new strategy or something (and if I can't I will log off, extremely pissed at me, not at them)...maybe we can ask him a less vital role, or talk with him more, or whatever.  I remember a group where I was main puller, main dps and CC, the healer was good, and the noobs we get where happy and have a kick ass experience...See, having 4 noobs in a group of 6 and still managing and succeeding, that is a test of hardcoreness no "Uberguild tagers" can even start to envision.  I also like to see them evolve, becoming uber in their own way, as they learn and play the game more.  When you take a "Deep noob" and turn him in a "slight noob", that is a very rewarding experience.  And if the uberguild tagers are harsh with these improved noobs (they usually are, themselves been noobishly excluding other noobs), they aggravated me, a LOT.

Now, I will admit, I like to show off, yet in a good way, I don't have to show off.  But if a player is failing, it is an opportunity to shine, myself, and get the failing player some positive gaming experience for him...and well, I am just addicted to praises!  image  Chanter class was very fun, especially when you save a group and nobody expect it.

PS: Never call someone you group a Noob, the term here is purely used in an explanation way.  The only persons I actually called noobs, from person to person, they wear an evil guildtag!  If I think someone is a noob, but kind and trying, the last thing I would do would be calling himself a noob, however, they tend to self targetting, in which case I try to deny it, in kindness, even if deep within me, I agree with them.  image  I usually can find something I did and say I am a noob about it, which usually raise back the spirit!  We all do some noobish stuff here or there.  image

In general, I do not let other players behavior affect me. I reserve hate for those who want to physically harm/kill us.

What annoys/irritate me though are fair game:

Griefers - People who utilize their gameplay to ruin my gaming experience. Specifically camping the newbie/tutorial area when there is no real benefit for killing me there and there is absolutely no risk to them.  Killstealing monsters if they know there is no obvious benefit for them. Inviting me to a group and porting me into a group full of monsters I have no chance in Hades of surviving and watching me die while laughing.  Camping my corpse for more than an hour is irritating as well.

Only game I ever cancelled was Lineage2 because of such behavior.

Players that are rude and obnoxious and  cry about being killed on a pvp server, its a pvp server! your supposed to die, you die they died, cant be avoided.

Also people who start insulting you for no reason, example, "Can someone tell me where the bank is here"(me in WoW when i started) response: "Shut up you stupid idiot". I mean whats the point?image if you can't say something nice, dont say anything at all is what i say.

I don't think I really "hate" anyone I've met although I've met people
that I don't seem to have much fun being around.  So I don't play
with them and they never have to bother me again.  I've been
playing games for ages and I think I've generally had positive
experiences with people I've met and played with.  Maybe I'm just
lucky.  I can't remember the last time I had to put someone on
/ignore or shout at them for something.  I think I've reported
maybe three or four people in the years I've played MMOs... from the
first day of UO until now.  I think I have a gift for tuning
people out or something.  It makes life much nicer!

I hate the assholes who spam shit in chat like they are 5, like on the Dethecus server (Alliance) on WoW

  • DrowNobleDrowNoble Member UncommonPosts: 1,297

It's the disrespectful or arrogant players that bother me the most.

By disrespectful I mean ganking, griefing, or other such things.  It's fine to "pwn" someone in pvp, but don't corpse camp that's childish.  Ok you beat them in a duel don't spam /rofl emotes it just makes you look like an immature 9 yr old.  If you see someone fighting near a chest, resource, named mob or whatever don't just run up and take it, ask them "hey are you clearing to that?" or such.

Arrogant are those elitist players that have that "I've been to Uber Raid Zone and am therefore a better player than you" mentality.  He has better gear but isn't a better player necessarily.  You see this a lot on the official forums or ingame chat channels.  They think I have all this epic, fabled, etc gear so my opinion has more worth than anyone else's.  Taking pride in your ingame accomplishments is fine just don't get a swelled head over it.  image
