Can anyone ease my weary mind... Please...

image Okay.  I have waited for a long time and patience is my greatest virtue, but what when i recieved an email from Themis that i needed to register my account, and then I will be contacted in 2 to 3 days with the beta info, and after doing so, have I still not gotten my beta info.  I got thier email 5 days a go, and this game looks too awesome to wait for.  imageI'm starting to get paranoid that by the time they get to me with my account info and the game, the beta will be over.  I already plan to buy this game, but I wanna play it now.  imageOh, the question...  imageSorry busy ranting...  Does anyone have thier info yet and, if so might anyone be able to ease my mind be telling why I havn't gotten mine.  Oh, and where do you go to download it, the client I mean...

    All  500 of the people that won off this site havn't got their info yet so wait more time if its not here by next week then they prolly don't wish to sell many copys of this game

    Truth be told they might not be ready for us. 500 new testers can be alot in the early stages and they need the servers prepared. That email they sent out was probably just to show us that they had not forgotten about us, it wasn't really necessary to register which account got te beta, that could have waited until they sent it out. It's ok though, the release date has been pushed back to June, so we have 3 months to test if they send it soon.

    Thank you, you actually did help me to cool myself down.  The june set back is good yet bad news, but at least i'll be able to ply it for a while before I buy it.  Your right though 500 people is a lot to load on to what servers or server they have for beta, guess I should have thought of that.  Well thanks anyway for helping me.  Hopefully we get them soon, and we all have fun playing it, looking forward to seeing you all in the world of Atys.image

    And it isn't just 500 from us.  Over the last couple of months Themis has given out close to 2000 beta accounts.  This game is still in early beta as well, so I think their not ready and Themis might have jumped the gun a bit on Nevrax.

    I sent a polite email to themis today inquiring about the status of the contest winners.  Hopefully they reply back and I'll let everyone know what they said....if they reply back.

    It isn't exactly like we deserve respect from Ryzom.....

    Sure, we won a contest, but we have yet to do anything for them.  We are in no position to demand anything from them.  I understand how you are frustrated, but had you not won the contest, you would not ever be able to play it.  Be content with what you have, no sense making asses of yourselves over a beta that you don't have yet. 

    By the way, the themis e-mail said a "few days."  Never mentioned 2-3, so they left it kinda open to interpretation.  THe e-mail from MMORPG.com mentioned 48-72 hours, and that happened.  In truth, they HAVE kept us notified.  It has been 4 business days since they notified us, and that categorizes still in the few days.  Calm down, and think logically.

    Yeah, because once you get over 60 posts, you ARE an expert, right?  *rolls eyes*

     

    I could sit here for a few hours and type replies to various posts if you want.  I am on spring break and have some time.   I just really don't think it proves anything.  And I am signed up for betas right now as well, which i DO have 100+ posts for.  Funny how posting or not posting is the deciding factor of expertise in a forum.....

    I really hesitate in posting any message that might be considered a "flame" but I really get ticked off by people who consider raw post count as ANY indication of knowledge, intellect, insight, etc.  It doesn't take anything more than an idiot to spam forums with a ton of posts which add no thought provoking ideas to a discussion just so that person can "troll" the board and appear to be an active member.  Personally, give me a person who posts only when they contribute to the quality of the discussion as opposed to the quantity of the discussion.

    And the same would apply to those that think raw post count should weigh heavily into the decision as to who gets into a beta.  Simply posting 500 posts that say "THAT ROXXERS" proves nothing as to the contribution that person will make to the developement of a game.  Once again, I would rather the boards not be spammed with such jibberish.  Rather, let me read a thoughtful opinion made by someone who has analysed their position.....even if I disagree with that position.

    BTW, the stars to the left of every post are awarded for a variety of reasons. One of them happens to be the quality of the posts made by that person.  Why is it that someone with <10 posts might have 4 starts and someone with >100 posts have 1 or 2 stars?  Can't possibly be based on post count alone can it?

    Ok, just wanted to give everyone a little info....and I got this right off of Ryzom.com web site.  Nevrax and Themis have been spending the week at the game developers conference in CA.  I am sure that has taken priority this week.  Hopefully we will hear next week.  I am just thankful that I will be part of the beta once it does start. ;-)

David Cohen from Nevrax will be on hand to talk about the game, as will our US partners from the Themis Group!

    jsut wanted to state in a non flaming matter erm i don't think all of Themis is going to CA alot of people have to stay back and tend to the people that are testing the game aswell as customer service and stuff there for somone from Themis could relese more info about a dely or what ever

    You are correct Kugeln, I just wanted to point out that I am sure adding new beta testers to the system this week was probably not a priority to them; however, I am sure someone could have emailed us with an update. ;-)
