Thanks for interviewing someone that doesn't have an over-inflated ego. (e.g. John Carmak) Ahem...

    Anyways, thanks again.

    PS

Anyway to make an article about writers that want in the game industry?

Someone has to make the quests!

i'm like 12 years old, and i'm well set onto computer game design, but,ok, ive learned from many websites and books on how to do basic designing, but my school doesn't teach how to use 3d modelling, or even basic ict skills, i need to find a good 6th form (i don't know what you call it in america) college or i'm never going to get into the computer game industry. and i will be very unhappy.

but hey, if i do get in, u guys seem likeu have a ball

just thought i would post something as my last post here got deleted and only positive comments seem to count here and i was greatly disapointed tbh, it was a valid comment and was not deflamatory or insulting in anyway.

Just want to make a point that "open" forums should be open and post deletion should be done using common sense.

    nuff said.

    capable "rubber" hands yeah :P

But seriously, nice article , just shame it was mostly about art design and not other aspects of game developing. *HINT* make another one about  other aspects ?  *Edited: dont mind me ... I just read the other parts ... *hits himself in the head* *

And I will finish my comment with wishes of luck to Sigil with their new title Vanguard, I had the pleasure of beta testing it and ... well theres alot of work to be done, but they could be on to something.

You might want to try to search the web for game design schools not colleges as your only 12yr. You can find some online courses but most of it is all programming which isn't that bad to know. You can also go to like mayas or 3d maxes website  find some books on ethier program and complete the book. Time yourself than go through it again and keep doing it again till you can go through the book in a day. I did that with C++ and Java hell I could write programs in my sleep now it helps but it is repeative.

I did want to go into game design or programming but I found that I don't have the 2d art skills but can do the 3d stuff and its hard to create 3d without a 2d drawing. I than checked into wages and locations of all the jobs and I knew they where all on the west coast and I am on the east coast really cali or AZ or something isn't somewhere I would like to live. I just want you to know what you are geting into.

I am only 16 myself I dropped out of highschool and now in my freshmen year for CIS(computer information systems). Your best bet if you want to go to college for it even for only 2 years mess around with it now and by the time comes you will know enough and get good grades and learn alittle. I already know my C++ for my degree and some of the database management so I don't have to worry about those classes.

I am going to look into finding some learning programs other than just going to your local book store and picking up a maya book when I find some I will send them to you( if i remember hehe). They might cost you something but hey if you really want to get into that than hey its worth it. Matter afact I know a friend of mine is only 17 still in school and sends some small time game companies models and designs etc etc and they pay him for each because its cheaper.

All computer type jobs or programs aren't really about college or your GPA its about what you can do and if you can program something amazing or design something awsome than you can get the job. I know hell I already started on my program I plan to use as a demo.

I hope you can find something and if you put your mind to it and work your butt off you can do it.

"As you can see, it takes a big team to make an MMO"

    ....

Or it takes less than 10 to make a MMO thats not a cookie cutter of everquest/DAoC/ETC and every other typical fantasy MMO on the market.

Ok, I'm a 15 year old from Milan, Indiana and when I grow up, I want to be a Game Developer. Now I have looked into Full Sail, and have heard of a lot of good things about it could anyone tell me anything about it. I checked up on the site, but I want a outsiders opinion, someone who doesn't work there.
