People have been flaming the video for weeks now. "Looks boringz!" I would just like to know what people would like to see the video.
Aside from the lack Prince of Persia stlye leaping off walls, I think it looked pretty good. Yeah, the sound effects were pretty alpha quality, BUT IT'S ALPHA! I personally liked how when a character attack another player an effect or knock-down kicked in so it actually looked like the character was hit. Alot of people critized that shinny effects appeared when a hammerer swung but for said people, I would like you to place your neighbor in metal armor and hit him with a hammer. If you aren't a wimp, then there should be sparks! The light clean up helped alot.
But we weren't really getting a look at anything but the animations. We got no look at the UI because it was removed. We didn't know if the player was questing or ganking. You couldn't tell he was fighting players if you didn't read the text(a lot of people didn't. IE 'OMGX HES GRINDING!!!). What was wrong with the animations that made it a horrible video?

I realy liked the video...but you could say that it was obviosly "Staged".
I use the Word "staged" because it was shot from a third person PoV and well you could tell from the start that the greenskins were gonna die.
I would have much rather seen something from a first person perspective that was just "randomly" recorded durring testing and the outcome wasn't clearly pre-deturmined. The reason for this is to give a clearer idea of what actual gameplay "feels like" and the uncertainty that is expected(Oxymoron...lolz) in RvR and warhammer. All we got from the fottage they released is that greenskins are going to fight dwarves, what the animations looked like from the third person, and what the sound might be similar too.
All in all, I liked the video alot but more could/should have been done with it
In the video we have seen:
Combat is both too fast and too slow. There is too much moving around, not enough bunny hopping. Its too gritty and too cartoony. Its obviously just another grind and also a WoW clone.
Personally im amazed that anyone can get so much information from a video, if i could look at a gameplay video and instantly know what the game is going to play like id save myself hours. wonder how i can develop that skill.
Visually id expect WAR to look like what we have seen, but a bit more polished. thats what warhammer looks like. as far as gameplay goes, ill wait till ive actually got my hands on it before judging it.

Mostly i was disappointed by the animations, or lack therefore, of them.
Yes, the knock out move IS actually well done, but that is basically the only thing well done in the animation department of the movie.
Not all is crap, some are "averagely" well done and some are downright bad. The statement by the art director that they are 80-90% done on dwarven/orcs animation is even more worryingly, it means that is what we will get in release, basically and they just look too stiff.
The second thing was: weapons and armors. Granted, those guys are tier 1 people, so at the lowest of the chain, but they STILL should have stuff that looks good. Look up ironbreakers minis, or hammerers, like these: http://uk.games-workshop.com/dwarfs/miniature-gallery/9/
THOSE are nice hammers that looks bad ass, even being almost all the same.
Anyhow, this is the minor issue, as the guys were definitly just starting AND prolly completely in newbie outfits, so no big deal. The animations, though, are another thing.
Finally, it could be just that movie and the rest is fine, i hope so. i really do.
