Attn: True Warhammer Nerds

Since the announcement of WAR I have started to follow its progress and have tried to learn as much as possible about it. I've developed into somewhat of a quasi-nerd on the subject but I have never played the TT game or read any books on it so there is a lot I don't know about. I've found a few sites with limited info on the lore and such but I'd like to get a more expansive view of the world. So this is why I'm asking for help. If anyone knows of any sites with good info on the world, lore, etc, could you let me know? I'd be truly grateful. Thx in advance.

I haven't got a clue about lore sites, but I think Games Workshop is quite strict about their lore being used. They have a profitable business selling their army codexes, battle books and the white dwarf magazine :/

The lore is very nice, I own the dwarf codex and used to own the tyranid codex from WH40k. I collected the miniature stuff as a 13-15 year old as I recall and sold them since. Couldn't upkeep the hobby though it was fun. Especially the painting (particularly the shading) and customizing the battlegrounds was nice.

If you want to ask some stuff about the dwarfs I reckon I can dig up that old manual Just hope I don't get sued

Actually I have, but having never played the game I'm not sure of the core stuff to look for.  All I've found is some fansites, a big section on wikipedia, and heaps of sites selling the TT pieces.  I didn't know you could download the manuals.  Gonna go see what I can find.

Callmetoby: I don't want to repost here, but if you check out the following link, I've made an introductory guide to Warhammer background.

All I see is add book to shopping cart for $20.00. Again, I can give info from the dwarf one.

If you want to know a few things before you get into the game, these might be things to look into:

Each race (obviously), The war of the Beard, The Elven Civil war, The great wars against chaos, the current history of the empire, and anything you can find on the Greenskins.

    Modjoe86- Gambling is a sin.
    Laserwolf- Only if you lose.

    Waiting for= PSU, WAR

dont follow any lore pre-1994 seriously gamesworkshop went all corporate and destroyed the entire lore, dumbing the game down so badly it hurt, fair enough streamline the actual game mechanics, but they destroyed half of the lore too, in the process, just to attract a younger and younger player base. if you can find the ancient articles from white dwarf, you will find some awesome stories and lore.

sorry but im old and i prefer the original warhammer ruelsets and lore hehe.
