Our friends over at Age of Conan have released a whopping seventeen new screenshots for our viewing pleasure. You can view all of the screens by visiting our Age of Conan gallery here.
Looks better and better each time I see it. Doing some great work improving your game and its looks, this is almost flawless. I am sure, as last time, Funcom will come out with a breathtaking experience.

Wow, one of the more impressive use of graphics I have seen. However I have to wonder since I can't tell from just those pictures, are the models that good because of a high poly count or skillful texturing, looking at the shading it looks like it might be the high poly count, and in that case there could be some problems, since one of those guys forearms would probably have more surfaces then a entire character model in WoW. On the other hand if its just because of texturing its quite amazing.
There are some issues with lo-res textures but given the improvements we're seeing with every screenshot release i'm sure lo-res textures are being addressed. The only other negative is the excessive bloom in some screens. not a fan of bloom at all.
It's either that or I'm going to have to do some serious planning to figure out a way to afford parts for a new computer. I guess I could just stop buying food.
And yeah, Blood Money sounds kind of silly. Okay, it sounds really silly, but everything else in this game rocks. Hopefully, on the PvP servers, we'll have something else in place? Maybe?

Blood Money sounded a lot like a more detailed version of what WoW is doing with PvP now, to me. Just can't take the Honor Points from someone you kill in WoW is all. At least the idea sounded original enough to be stolen ...
these where pretty awesom screens, but then again over the years i have enjoyed many screens but unfortunly was disappointed about how it eventualy worked ingame, but still...have high hopes on AoC
It's stunning... they really are doing good work, I'm joining to AoC hype wagon now... though looks like i'll need a new computer just to play it at it's Extreamely low setting... if they weren't so busy... you know developing the game and making it better, I'd thank them.
It's certainly nice looking. Background is awesome. Didn't see many female characters, in 93 screen shots I saw two slave-girls in ubiquitous bra and undies, and the Amazonian looking gal with blue skin paint and tiger-stripe markings; not much else. The males are lumpy, which is not meant as an insult neccessarily since we are talking about the He-Man inhabitants of a Hyperborian world, but many have a bland sameness to them, outside of armor and the occassional bit of facial hair.
The environment, however- wow! Assuming that level of detail can be run on the average gamer's computer, then it will definitely be thrilling to the eyes, however gameplay may turn out. Backgrounds are lush and detailed, some I would go so far as to say they are beautiful. Cities are complex and inviting, just looking at them makes me want to explore them, and how many games can you say that about? No endless rows of same-same office buildings or huts, no sir! I hope they are functional dwellings, that you can venture in and around, instead of merely for show, like some other mmorpgs' city-scapes I could mention.
Creatures also seem well done. The various spider-themed monsters didn't do anything for me, I suppose because nearly every game I can think of has had spider-mobs in them, but they looked nice. I especially liked the looks of the water-troll-looking monsters, they definitely had a menacing quality to them. And Jungle Moose! They must be fond of Jungle Moose, considered how often I saw him. A bit out of place, but he's cute. For a Jungle Moose.
Yeah the screens look awsome, but almost too awsome. We all want to play with other like minded people and remember this game revolves around PvP at some point. So a game with graphics like this will make it hard for the average family guy with several kids to play on his family computer...much less even get into PvP. I even worry that I may not be able to run this well on my brand new computer and it is a Intel Duo Core 3.0GHz, with 1gig of RAM and a Geforce 7300 graphics card.
I just hope that they are able to create really stable server with really good connections, so the graphics don't effect us as bad.
MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW
Currently Playing: WAR Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.
This game is looking better and better. I am also looking forward to WAR yet I can't help but prefer the realistic, dark atmosphere AoC is developing compared to the happier dare I say WoW-like feeling I am getting from WAR.
Backgrounds look awesome, but the character model's skin still looks plastic.
The floating shields looks like a very graphically intensive spell effect, which means if all the spell effects are like that, they're going to cause massive lag just by themselves.
There's also not a single character shadow in any of the screens, and most of the buildings don't cast shadows, the ground is just darker and lighter in areas.
I really expected them to at least have shadows at this point. I mean the hanging crates aren't even casting a shadow.
Still though, if nothing else, the game will make for excellent screenshots of the scenery. The background design is second to none.
Just wish the number of screenshots of scenery were replaced with screenshots of various classes and armor schemes.

Not casting shadows??? The buildlngs in screenshot 6 are most definitely casting shadows and shadows are clearly evident in most other screenshots. Are we in fact looking at the same screens here?
Going back over the screens, it looks like when they get lots of characters on the screen they've turned all the shadows off, like in screen 10.
I personally don't see the point of making the graphics so brand-spanking-new if the models still look plastic in a lot of the screens, and once you have more than a few characters on screen, the shadows need to be turned off.
Oh well though. The scenery looks amazing still.

Btw, Redruum, did you ever play AC1. For some reason, your name sounds familiar.
Interesting, more and more so ! Anyone got a quick link with a list of feature that are currently planned to go in release ?
Not in english, sorry
