Been MMOless for 6+ months, i need a MMO....

Ive been MMOless for 6+ months, and i really need to get a big fix until AoC/Vanguard.  Ive played every MMO, heres the ones ive been thinking of restarting:

Everquest - The first MMO ive ever played.  I was looking at old Magelo profiles, and seeing all those items and stats made me want to start EQ again, from lvl 1 (Lawls)

EQ2 - I started EQ 2 at launch, and liked it very much, but not many guildies played EQ 2.

CoH/CoV - Ive been itching to play a super hero game and use wicked powers and such.

WoW - Ive been thinking of restarting WoW because of the new PvP system.  Thats all i plan on doing in WoW, besides farming.

Im torn between these 4.  Any ideas?

    Same problem here mate

Been waiting on damn Vanguard to come out. And it kills me that it can come out in 1 month or in 5 ... nobody knows.

So i hesitate to go into another MMO.

I would tell you to stay hell away from WOW.

If you didnt play COH/COV - you should give it a try. It is a blast for first few months

Looks like all three of us are waiting on VG. Make sure you pick up a pre-order box so you can play in Beta 5. If you guys are looking for a mature family-like guild, email me at "TheMiracleDT@gmail.com". As far as finding stuff to do, I highly reccomend Medieval 2 if you're into strategy and military command. Splinter Cell: Double Agent is all kinds of farfetch'd but even more kinds of fun. If you say it's good, I guess I might try CoH/V, if for no lesser reason than to be able to say that I've tested every major MMO on the market.

The best of luck with your Vanguard vigils guys, I know it hurts.

Too bad Vanguard is worse than all the top rated games out there atm :(

  • I am in the same boat. For the past year I really haven't been playing much, nothing interest me. I just started playing EVE. If you can call it playing. Right now I'm training a skill that takes 8 days. So I haven't logged on in the past 5 days. I think it's going to be this way for at least a month until I have enough skills to really interact with my Corp they way I want to.

Nothing really good is coming out. Vangaurd looks good, but then again, I'm desperate.
I sense that I'm going to waste $50 in the near future lol. Still going to wait a week or so until after the game comes out, but I know what's expected of this game already.

AOC looked cool. I don't like some of the mechanics. Should have been a skilled based game, it would have worked great for this game. Plus, I hate thier forums, everyone is either a Roleplayer, a hardcore fan of the books, or the "i want to cut off npc heads" crowd.

God and Heros, great idea, but it lacks something.

    Everything else is crap.

So, I'm saving up my money to upgrade my computer so I can run Vangaurd if it's good. If it turns out to be another everquest level grind (duh), maybe I'll get a xbox 360 and a couple of games. Or say screw games, use the money I saved and visit Europe again. I'd even find a job and stay there, not missing anything around here lol.

On a side note, why isn't there any Mexican food joints in Europe, I've never seen one. I HAVE to have mexican food to survive. Although I have been to a pizza place owned by mexicans when I was in Scotland. Funny huh?

You should definetly wait for vanguard which is sposed to come out the next month. You can pre-order it now. Good luck image

I wouldnt play EvE if you plan on leaving for another MMO. EvE is very long term, specially because, as you mentioned, you "cant do anything" @ the start.

You really can, but its best to train the learning skills first...which should take around 1 and a half months to get up to nice levels, or a bit less. (not including normal learning V, since you can get adv. learning I without normal V now)

WoW is good for temp play I think...as is D&D online, depending on how much you play. :P

If you liked EQ2 at launch you will love it now.  In light of the
most recent expansion, the game has undergone massive changes for the
better.   Roll up on a PvP server and go nuts.

I'd say go to CoH/Cov, it might not be a groundbreaking game, but its a break from normal fantasy MMO's and thats just what you need :)

I would say, assuming Vanguard will ship in a month or two, to play COH/COV because a month or two is all you'll play of it anyway.  GL in finding your home.

Play City of Heroes/City of Villians.  Buy them separately, as you can get each for 10 dollars and they come with first 1 month free(assuming you get the box version, not sure about the DL.)  Check Compusa, Microcenter, etc.

You'll get a few months of play out of them, that's for sure.  Character generation and gameplay are very fun and it's the closest you will find to balance in a game system.  Teams really do work and work well.

CoV/CoH is a good choice for a standby or fill in game if you like it. You can play but then put it aside and not worry about coming back till months later to find all your gear is out of date, the economy is shot to pieces leaving you a pauper or you can't level with old friends.

During my Play the Fae (EQ2) trial, I met this guy who told me he was popular on the evil side of the game and he even gave me his name so if I bought the game I could look him up. If I can find someone that nice in my first day of the trial, it really says alot. Not to mention that playing the final quest on the tutorial island with my rogue Ratonga was the most PvE fund I've had since high level TP burn parties in FFXI.

I have to say if you liked EQ2 at launch you will most likely stick with it for a bit know...or atleast till u can find a fix haha. All the difrent updates r sweet.   No I dont play but at friends house I do have been for a good ammount of time xDimage

Yeah i remember playing CoH, had a blast.  Especially punching people with my ice fists, making them fall off 20 story buildings.

Hows the community/population?  Are there lots of empty zones?  Or are there main zones for certain lvls, that most people flock too.  I do love the character creator.

But then again, EQ2 has always had a place in my heart.  Tough decision, CoH/CoV or EQ 2...
