Just Bought The Pre-Order

Greetings all,
As you can tell, I'm new here. I just pre-ordered Vanguard, installed the beta client and set up Vanguard on my Sony Station ID. I already play Everquest II and occasionally flit over to SWG to see how things are. I have to say, after watching the video on the DVD and paging through the screenshots and lore, I am beyond excited about this game! It's like they took two of my favorite games, UO and DAoC, and combined them and then made them even better! I can't wait to setup a house, attain a coveted mount and sail on my very own ship! I look forward to doing battle with Pirates as well as exploring the lands from one end of the map to the other. The screenshots show an absolutely gorgeous world! I can't wait to immerse myself in that world and become a hero with my very own story! I am currently rattling mailboxes, pulling together friends from other games and trying to assemble a decent sized, roleplaying/gaming guild. I have a lot of work to do, but I'm so excited I barely notice that it's work. I look forward to getting to know the rest of you and learning more about Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.

I could have written most of what Chaotica wrote. I too have pre ordered Vanguard (the Guild edition) and I'm very excited about getting to play the game. You can file me under "Former WoW players (who want something deeper)".
My retailer wrote that it will ship late January...so, won't it be weird if the game isn't released at that time too?
In no way does this effect how I feel about Vanguard as a game and I will continue to check the forums constantly every day because I have no life. I'm not too picky about my games, what really interested me was the diversity. I'm tired of looking like everyone else. I want to be Terros Nightcloud, not Rogue #334629. That is what I think will hook me in and cloud out the negative aspects of the game.
I picked up my copy of the Pre-Order box today. Figured that I would give it a try at launch so if it turns out as big as some people are predicting, at least I will be starting on the ground running.

Publisher had no part in this game. The early stages of beta publisher was MS. Sony only got involved in the last few months. People are just stupid and dont like SOE.

Do you understand what the word PUBLISHER MEANS. The publisher DOES NO WRITE THE checks . THEY PUBLISH the item and get money for doing so.
SOE didnt even get involved in this game until a few months ago therefor how much input cuold of they had because the game was already well into beta when they got involved.
One more IMPORTANT note is SOE is a CO publisher not a sole publisher of Vanguard. Sigil is also the publisher. SOE is only doing the backend shit with the servers and billing for the game not the development, since the game was already taking form when they got involved.
Im not sure of the full details of this game, but if im hearing correctly you need to preorder the game to participate in the open beta?
