Any Specialty Shards?

I have never played UO but have considered it. I was wondering if all the shards were the same.  Are they all open PvP? Are some of them Realm style (DAoC-ish)? Any of them strictly PvE?

    There is pretty much only one specialty shard.

    There are two types of ruleset, "production", and "Siege".

    Almost all the shards except two carry the production shard ruleset. Those two, Siege Perilous and Mugen, are a bit harsher (but more rewarding) because they are open pvp shards and don't have insurance.

    All the shards are the same except siege perilous, which has the old ruleset (the only shard is fellucia, which is open PvP). The other shards have both fellucia and trammel with a couple more shards.  I could explain all the differences but it would be easier for me to tell you to go to uo.stratics.com
