Housing New Player

What is the route to getting the basic house?  I just started playing mainly to collect and decorate...was wondering if there is any info or guides on housing and how to get one, place one etc...or will I have to play for months to be able to afford the basic starter house?  Thanks.

    NVM...I just purchased a House placement tool and 33k seems to be the cheapest house...its gonna take awhile...as it ought image

    Well first thing I would suggest is skilling up your char as fast as you can.  33k for any GM in just about any skill can be made in less then 1hr.

    the money aint the hard thing to get for a house when ur new..atleast not the 33k that the cheapest houses cost...

    Try asking for a small plot near britannia populated bank. There are experts in finding plots and since the small ones don't sell well (most people are after the max storage ones) you might even get a gate to one. I don't know how things are on your server, but when I returned to the game, after 1 year away, a veteran showed me a empty plot and I placed my house there. Later on, the friend i had given my old house to before leaving (max storage) gave it back to me, and i saved the small plot rune for a newbie. One is now living there. There is a lot of people that do this, or drop gear near banks so the "youngs" can use.

    Depending on what shard your playing finding a house plot should be really easy - save for Europa as one example in which it's a nightmare to find a plot.



    I suggest mining and blacksmithing to get fast gold. Just make items, and sell them to the NPC's till the price drops and by that time you should have enough skill to try the next in line. Also buy bolts/arrows from the random gypsy spawns in ilsh then sell them to the NPC's for a hefty profit - 5-15gp each. I can make 100-200k a day doing that.

    I agree on Europa is harder to find a plot, but that's exactly where the veteran offered me one. I still have a rune for my first house ever, a small marble tower on a island near a trasure hunt spot saved for someone in need, though that place is hardly recomendable to newbies. Problem is there are Treasures lvl 5 there aswell, and when they are digged the spawn is naturaly quite nasty. It depends on how lucky you are when asking about a plot, if there is a nice veteran around they wont mind giving you one. I've seen this hapen many times. The prices are going up again, the demand also, but might still hapen.

    Housing is so worthless in Ultima Online now, that if you hang around the banks you are likely to find someone that will give you one.

    not really as i treasure hunt in great lakes server i find lots of empty plots ranging from 7x7 to 12x12 most of them are on an island tho...
