Gothic III : BEWARE

I will warn you all now if you had a plan to buy it. DON'T.

When Gothic, the original first came out, it was allright, actually, best story-line and best game I've ever played. Besides the fact that it is extremely bugged and a little laggy, it was good. I thought after the 5 or 6 years Pirhanna had to make Gothic three, it would be better. If anything, the programming is WORSE. When you look at the ground the screen goes white and the game freezes every 10 minutes. It is extremely laggy and it takes up 5g on memory on your harddrive.

If you ask me, it is a waste of $40 and I'm never giving Pirhanna bytes another chance again.

    My computer is fine, everything runs fine. I mean EVERYTHING. Its just, when I put in my Gothic III disc its like my computer was just slammed against a brick wall. It doesn't run. Gothic was very buggy too. I don't think its my computer. image

    Yeah, I've never played it before, but I've heard it was pretty buggy and that it crashes a lot. 5gb is a lot of space, but it's what your going to have to expect from a lot of games that are being released... It got a 4.9 out of 10 on IGN, and those reviewers are usually trustworthy so I'll take your word for it.

    Suggestion: Some people may not have the same problem with the game, just be sure to post your video card info the next time you post something like this or you might get flamed.

    He's right Gothic3 is trash. Are you telling us it runs smooth for you, no stuttering no graphic lag at all and no bugs? Because you would be the 1st guy I've seen say that.
    There's a video of one of the devs playing it on one of their rigs at E3 and it stutters.lol

    Little lag, nothing game breaking for me.  Doesnt freeze up on me like it does the OP.

    Also have you patched it yet?

    You bought a game like gothic 3? I'd sure as hell dl it first. If it was any good, I'd buy it.

      Im with Flem on this. No lag, bugs or crashes for me either. Mind you it was a tad unstable before I patched.
    Sounds to me like Flem and me have something in common. A computer that runs the game. The question is why?image

    same here, sounds like you just need to patch the install.  and i have a ATI 9600xt 128 mb card.  game runs quite well for me.

    Hmm, Patch? Wheres that? Just look up like "Gothic III Patch" On google or something?

    And about the "Oh man, you bought that, I would definently download it first." Well, like four years ago when Gothic came out, I downloaded it, then bought it. It was really bugged, but I mean, the story line of it was just so good I kept with it. image But, Gothic III is just, well, unplayable for me. (I don't know the spec on my video card, all i know is that it's a GForce.)

    So, yea, where can I find the patch?
