hmmm, i been thinking about this a while now, and i just wanted to know if EQ is really any fun? I have played the trial and i really did not like the fghting at all, but thats about it. Everything else was pretty nice.

I was going to get the titanium pack but im afraid that there might not be that many new players and that its changed too much since it came out. I have EQ2 and the Station Access thing already.

PLease help me out!

You won't like the game if you don't like the combat, crafting is far superior in almost every other game out there.

just because he tried the trial and didnt like the combat doesnt mean he'll hate the combat later on. Early on is when combat is sucky just like any mmo as you have very few skills to start with. as you level and gain more skills combat will start to get better and more enjoyable. I myself played a rogue to 29 and got tired of just sitting and autoattack but made a caster and liked it once i got decent spells (spells being plural btw)

This game is terrible, I wouldn't recommend it. Combat is the only thing about this game, the trade skills are beyond boring and finger numbing with all the combines. No one plays, so why even bother?! The gamer population will cause more server combines and unless you want to raid the same raid content 100's of times, this game is boring beyond belief.

That's right, because World of Warcraft is SUCH an innovation. :p

I agree, WoW sucks also, this raid centric crappola is beyond stupid, like we all should do the same content over and over, big YAWN. Vanguard will blow also, wait for Warhammer or Age of Conan or any other game that isn't raid based.

From what I understand (though I totally agree with you with regards to WoW and EQ) Vanguard will not be raid focused.

From Brad McQuaid himself, it's been said that the game will have a 20% solo, 20% raid, 60% group focus.

Now! Before anyone jumps on that, I'm only paraphrasing.  Anything can change between now and release.  One can only hope this will be true.

Now if you want you also can say EQ is 70% group, 25% Raid, 5% wasted space.  So I would say Yes Vanguard is going to be like EQ.  Not bashing EQ at all I still play it but for the best items yes its Raid content, Isnt that always the truth though?

Brad and his team are why EQ is the way it was. They have also said, they will do everything they can to rebuild to THEIR dream, their idea, to "Welcome to our world". Expect it to change and expect it change for the worse (in your opinions) - to maximize time sinks - Brad McQuaid may not have invented them, but he sure took them to new hights!

I don't know, if you didn't enjoy the trial, you prolly wouldn't enjoy the game. The trial is actually a micro-version of the entire game. Combat doesn't change alot (it does change, but not alot) as you level - have you tried a none melee class?

My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me.

I play, and on a different server. That's 2 on two servers. And my husband plays on the same server I do, so that's 1 on one server and 2 on another... Oh, yeah, and then there are the couple we bought Prophecy of Ro for as a Christmas gift, since they came back from The-Game-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named* a few months ago. So, that's 4 on my server. And the guy who invites me to group every night. That's 5... Yeah, there are at least half a dozen people left playing. image

*I dare not say the name of it, lest it bring people out of the woodwork who don't even play EQ to say that it is impossible that someone would leave that game for this "dead" one... Even though people I know seem to be coming back all the time.

    ...
