Login Box and Javascript

Login box not appears if javascript is disabled.
Firefox users can avoid it using noscript plug-in and enable on-the fly.
As for IE users - in IE 7  Internet Zone restriction not completely allow javascript for security reasons and I was unable to find login box at all ( until i switched to FF and enabled javascript).
It would be great if site will allow to login wo javascript or at least it will be available under default Internet restriction zone in IE 7.0

Update - was wrong.. I had custom settings on security for Internet Zone

But anyway there can be at least notification about - you can't login wo javascript enabled. But better option IMO to allow login and use most popular features wo javascript.

But every gaming d00d uses javascript man! Where have you been? All the cool dudes run around on the Net with Flash, ActiveX and scripting enabled? Jeez, I thought we all on the same page!

Sarcasm aside, using only client-side scripting for any navigational purpose on a website is a bad idea. Standard HTML should always be there as an alternative. Especially for something like a log-in box.

Yeah, I know, I am a real standards Nazi when it comes to these things, but there are reasons for these recommendations which become pretty obvious if one studies them.

I have to agree with Ulujain, sure the new quick login is cool looking and quick, but an HTML back up would be very much appreciated and as far as I know would clear up any problems with Roboform and the like.

When you will meet XSS attack first time -  you wont be so self-confident about javascript. Hope your first experience wont hurt you a lot. Security isn't a system setup, its a permanently evolving process. (but this forum isnt a place to speak about security =) )

I too don't like the login box.

Old design, Firefox autofilled in my username and password, I just clicked login.

New design, I click "Login", the box slides open, I type my username and password and hit login.

    Big deal?

    No.

But it's little things that make or break a site.  And since I don't really see anything gained by hiding the login, it's not a good change to me.
