Roma Victor is not even a game.  Its nothing.
  • spexzspexz Member Posts: 28

Well u can allways choose to look like a clown or not.. At the other hand u can look real nice with some hooded shroud ect...

So it developed to something good.. u have more choises now then back then..

Nothing bad in that i think..

With the pigments of tokuno u can color anything u can wear.. sword/shields hats ect.. its alot more alternatives for u as a player.. Even tho some player DO look like christmas threes!:-)

The fact that you can look like a clown shows how little the developers care about the integrity of their game.

Nothing?  It's obvious to anyone that reads that, it's wrong.

It's also obvious to anyone that reads that, that you are willing to lie.

You are supporting a game they released unfinished and bugged to hell.  They released it to get money in hopes of filling their pockets and maybe improve the game as time goes on.

So basically you are paying to beta test a game for them.   Most people who have played it say its..........unplayable and to steer clear from it.  Your the only one supporting the damn game so give it a rest.

No one from Ultima Online, old or new, would enjoy this game or consider it a replacement.

You know it has been announced that with UOKR, they're getting rid of neons?

The neons you see now will be no more when Spring comes around.

Yes, but the screenshots say a thousand words about Electronic Arts and the developers of Ultima Online.  The problems with Ultima Online gameplay and development go much deeper than just the apparent clownsuits and sunglasses that they have added into the medieval themed game only to make a quick buck and entice the kind of player that enjoys these things into remaining a customer.

Ultima Online is nothing but a kids game now and something for the disabled to spend their government checks on.

The graphics update will do little to fix the gameplay and design.

UO is a kid's game when it's average playerbase age is actually around 30 years old? I'd actually nominate WoW more likely to be a kid's game since the average player age is younger than 18 in that game.

UOKR is not just a graphics update. It's a complete expansion, and quite possibly some revamps of some major systems (we'll know more details on this soon enough).

Also, I thought your topic of the post was about the neons, not about the deeper problematic intricacies of Ultima Online.

You thought wrong then, I guess people only stopped to read the cover rather than opening the book and considering what type of game development, vision and focus would lead to a game that looks like the current Ultima Online in the screenshot.

How can I read a book, when there is no text and all picture cover?

But on the subject, it is the fault of past development teams for the creation of the neons. At least this current team believes they are an eyesore, and doing away with them when the new client comes around.

Of course there is no book to read.  Have you ever heard that a picture is worth 1000 words?

I was hoping people would stop and think about how the game has changed after seeing the pictures.

As far as removing neon, that's a start, but there's a lot of weird junk, poor game designs and broken systems to undo.

I think its kind of funny.Don't know why roma victor got dragged into this but have to say UO is still way better then RV which shows what a poor state RV currently is in .

I'm going to take the obvious open shot here:

This thread was made so that a fanboi of a brand new MMO that looks and plays worse then Second Life can make us think with screenshots.

*shrug* Eh, I guess if you're unable to drum up support for your own love, all you've got left is to try to knock someone else's down a notch. :>

um, you've just described world of warcraft and every game since.

not sure why you're harping on a sig anywho...  image

UO has had many a change in the past 9 years.  much to explore, much to do... and still issues finding locales for huge homesteads!

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

If UO hadn't been ruined, if they had at a minimum kept their grubby mitts off the Siege server and left it alone, I would still be playing.
  • sempiternalsempiternal Member UncommonPosts: 1,082
The screenshots tell one thousand words about the current Ultima Online game design.

First of all UO has the right to do what ever they want they pretty much paved the way for mmos.

Second i would rather look at the 2d UO then the 3D crapy look of roma victor.

Third UO is going good for a old game. your just made becasue roma victor ran out of money and had people buy the beta so they can try to make it good. when roma victor is 10ish years old and still battleing the big dogs like wow and everquest. then you can talk but for now post in roma victor about how good the game is and maybe you will learn somthing.

O yea it looks like shit

Any developer has the right to do whatever they like with their game; even make outstanding games into shitty games like Ultima Online.
