Duo Classes

PickloPicklo Member Posts: 1

I went through the first 20 pages or so thinking I would find a post already made on this, but here goes.  I have never played eq2 before, and my wife has never played an mmorpg.  I did play eq1, and enjoyed it.  I'm looking for some thoughts of classes that would be compatible for grouping, also I am looking for a class that would be easy for her to play, or an introductory type player for her.

Classes I was looking at playing would be

ranger

assasin

conjuror

any advice or help would be appreciated.

    some answers that could help.

I haven't played EQ2 that long yet, but I enjoy my berserker. tried  a monk, also fun,  although seems to be slower solo.

Almost all classes can solo, though I find in most MMOsa tank easier, because you don't have to "too careful" when solo play, considering healing, strategies, etc, carefully choosing cloth armour, maybe even reagents... But that is just me. In groups you have to think even less about healing.
Found e.g. my Warlock in WoW acutally boring, stand back, wait until leader says nuke, and you press your corresponding keyboard buttons :(

Generally the best duo is a tank class with decent DPS and a healer. Tank wise you should look at a Berserker, Monk or Bruiser as they have excellent DPS for tanks. For the healer you probably want a Fury or a Warden again, because they have the best DPS among healer classes.

Another class you could consider it replacing the tank with a Rogue. A well geared swashbuckler can actually do a pretty good job as a tank, they have taunts, a good defensive stance and some of the best debuffs. They would also be capable of a lot higher DPS then the top tanks.

If you think you may use the two of you as a core and invite others to fill out the team I’d go with the Berserker + Fury/Warden, but if you want to take a chance and are willing to accept some growing pains a Swashbuckler + Fury/Warden or perhaps a Swashbuckler + Mystic would be a fantastic duo.

    Bruiser/Monk + Fury/Warden work very well

    Also Berserker + Warden/Fury

    and Swashbuckler + Warden

You could even have a summoner (Necro/Conj) and have their fighter pet tank then pick any other DPS class to make up the duo.

Paladin/Shadowknight are probably 2 of the hardest classes to start off with but they are extremely fun.
