Why did you steal RLMMO's logo?

The new 'O' is way too similar to RLMMO.com . (http://www.rlmmo.com/)
I'm pretty sure they were using it first. This reminds me of SOE "stealing" game mechanics from other games.
Overall, I don't like the new theme. Please go back to the old theme.

As far as the theme goes, shortly we will be offering user selectable themes, and one of them will include the colour palette and general look of the last site style. Hang in there while we get it working right.
The (mmorpg.com) logo of the letter "O" is different color AND shape (even the seperations are on different places), Rlmmo doesnt have the two seperations in "O" copyrighted so there is nothing but possibly similar.

Hehe, to me anyway the logo and the interface feel like the rulebook of Star Trek PnP. Also like the interface for the Federation in many Star Trek games.
RLMMO seems quite different, they cut the O in two and the comparaison stop there. Star Trekcould try to get a free publicity ride in a way or another without hurting MMORPG.com, but the similitudes call for a free publicity boost! I mean, anyone tell me this doesn't feel like Federation interface without blinking...I know you will all smile, blink, cought or whatever...this is like Star Trek: Federation.
I will give the benefit of the doubt that the artist behind this didn't do it on purpose, but it is extremely obvious that his subsconcious was directed by the Federation.
I dunno how, but I will find a way to blame SoE for that, just gimme a moment...I am sure I can find a way to link that to Smed!

Honestly, and no offense to the people running RLMMO - but we had never even heard of this site or seen their logo. If we were to steal something (which we would not) I think we might set our sights a little higher.
Basically with the logo we needed something that was much more simplistic and had a break-out "mark" that could be used in design elements. This is where the ( ) came in I guess. The old logo was way too rendered and unless shown in full color and large size it was not recognizable - this poses a real problem with marketing our brand.
I know change is hard...but we felt this was necessary to take our site to the next level. The old design was mostly done by myself and I know little to nothing about HTML design...which is why the old site loaded slow (massive nested tables) and was a cross browser nightmare.

Besides both of them resembling a circular shape, the logos aren't even that similar at all. RLMMO's looks like a moon somehow being double eclipsed while this logo looks nothing like it. RLMMO's has a lot of gradient variation and heavy rendering while this one uses simple, strong colours. I quite like it.

I suggest you sue the OP for liable and get his pocket money. When you get both quarters you may be shocked to learn that they are also circular and so you might want to sue the american government for stealing your idea.

For what its worth, I don't think you stole the logo. I really do wish that you had added some other functions to this site.
Some things I would love to see:
1. The ability to link specific posts easily. The last time I tried, I had to go into the list of posts for the poster and use the link from there. (Edit: Interesting, I can't even do that now)
2. Skip to the 2nd, 3rd, or 10th page of a thread without having to enter the thread first.
3. Skip to the last post of the thread without having to enter the thread first.
4. Skip to the first unread post. This is common function in many different forums. Not having it here really shows how poorly these forums are set up.
Until these items are met, I'll likely only come here when someone else links to your site. Even then, I only bother showing up if the topic is something I find interesting.
Edit: Oh, by the way. This is just my honest opinion and no offense is meant. One of the reasons that I post at RLMMO is because they are aiming higher than you and have these features.
But hey.. maybe YOU didn't see it. I like the one in red anyway.

Just got onto mmorpg.com for the first time in a long enough while (like a week or something :P) and saw the new theme. One comment regarding it:
Fix it please.
Seriously, you can't select bits in peoples posts, and every time I change page I get like 3 popup boxes saying something about there being an error in line 999; something like it isn't there :P and asking whether I wanna debug or continue. It's getting REALLY old, REALLY fast.

One of you used "SOE logic" in temp banning me for posting a link to a commercial site for having a link to rlmmo in my post. The reply asking for a link to a single ad or service being sold went unreplied to.
Anyway, your new moderation and editorial policy are about as attractive as your new site theme. I suggest a rollback to classic policies and themes.

Ok, now we have piles of proof that we have been using this logo since early 2006 (we had over 400 business cards printed with this logo for the 2006 E3 convention and I can have our printing company prove this). This new logo of ours also appeared in 2 different WWII enthusiast magazines that were Oct issues (with early Sept printing deadlines) for some WWII Online promos we did with PlayNET.
So now should we run around screaming that OUR logo was copied from our business cards?
(that is a joke of course because such a notion is just plain dumb)

sense a disturbance in the Force. Sounds like some shady things
are going on. Kinda like the whole "splitting" of the SWG forums.
And yes, there are some serious glitches with the color palette tool
and just weird graphical glitches in general on the posting screen.

However, I still hold my belief that MMORPG.com is now under the rulership of Captain Picard and that the USS Enterprise is about to beam us to California for interrogation! Which of course would be truely evil since I won't have any paper to prove who I am and the US agency would prolly never listen to a word that I say and kick me on the other side of Mexico frontier, and from there I would have to find the Canadian ambassy, which in Mexico is open 2 hours per day; so I would be back home a little north of NYC in about 2 or 3 weeks; which would have been a plot to drop my Elite membership from the start!

Maybe you should've been. Your knowledge of building with CFMX should give you ideas on logical structure over and above that of a pure designer.
If you guys want to take this site to "the next level" you should stay away from this clunky / kiddy layout you have. The old sight, while cluttered, at least had some sleekness to it. The way the sight is now - 256 color pallette and 1995 graphics, seems like a step down and has a clumsy elephant size/style to it.
The other templates you guys have planned hopefully are less Nick Jr. Hell, I'd even take some MTV template over this mess.
Constructive criticism I hope, although I had to bash it some.
