Logging in switches to the "Forums" view...

Before the new site update it seems like you guys had just changed it so that if I am viewing a post, realized I am not logged in, I could log in and it would keep the post I was viewing on the same page.
Now it seems to have reverted back to the general "Forums" view as if I had clicked on the forums tab at the top. Now if I forget to log in and want to post on a topic, I have to log in and find the post again. Could ya change it back or is there a setting I am missing to stop this? Thanks
