MXO now has in game ads and system text messages that advertise for things. Very matrixy!
Wendy's ads spmmed at me during a video game that I already pay for, now thanks. I'll play a game with some amount of class.

Just ads appearing at city billboards - I fail to see how that affects this game's endurance. And oh, some people actually consider it "matrixy", since ads increase the real world feel (which the Matrix is supposed to be).
The game has had in game ads since, well, launch. First from WB and now from MASSIVE. Nothing new there mate and they're generally considered to add to immersion given the enviroment.
The video ads are understandably annoying and are currently being discussed on the official forums.
As for the system messages, you refer simply to one event, which as far as i know is to be an isolated event, which advertised quite clearly a game which upon early purchase all earnings would be devoted to the childs play charity. Not that you'd care about charity...
The fact that you most probably know this makes me think that you're really lying intentionally. If it's not your intention to lie, think out insults that don't have wrong statements as side effects.
Or prove why it was BS, dunno. Best thing is, you just stop... trolling. (or how do you wanna call that post you just made? no content, purely destructive intentions - spam, trolling)
Oh, video ads... well, those have been around for less time, I think. Sorry for this embarassing mistake.
That would add credibility both to you and the OP.
I remember fully accessible ads at Monolith - and people complaining about the static(!) ads on the European's "ad space for rent", even threatening to leave the game because of this (or something like that).
So those have been around for ages.
That was some sort of attempt to justify my misinterpretation, I guess.
Personally, if they add to the immersion (which most do imo) then im all for em.
And the truth is, and i mean the truth, you can not possibly claim to know where the money earned from the ads is allocated.
Unless you're a SOE/MASSIVE higher up who would have access to said information. Which i severely doubt.
this was a competition, to allow players to come up using their creative side, which apparently isn't shown here much to create something that will go ingame. if you want to see a big development

It's still a pretty powerful tree, but it balances out now.
