Whats so good about this game?

im curious to know why everyone is so hyped up on this game, is it the graphics? something you read? i just would like to know... the graphics are pretty nice, but why do YOU like the game, why are you interested?

The three main reason I am gonna play World of Warcraft are:
1st: It is a mmorpg devolped by blizzard
2nd: It has the Warcraft look. The Warcraft fantasy is one of the best made and written, so what ever Blizzard makes with it, it can never be bad.
3rd: The exping, tradeskill and questing is going to be in this game is alot bigger and better then any other mmorpg that has been published.

so far the main reason i've seen people wanting to play WoW is because its made by Blizz with the Warcraft label slapped on it... is that a good thing or a bad thing
no doubt about it this game will be a huge success (at least at launch) but is it for the wrong reasons?

It's not necessarily the warcraft label but the warcraft feel. The cartoony, colorful yet wonderful fantasy environment seems to attract people. It's very hard to put your finger on exactly what the warcraft feel is, but trust me, this game has it.

I'll say this before anyone else does so that he doesn't get any more attention then he deserves.
He obviously has NO idea what he's talking about, and is clearly one of the many mis-informed who think the only ppl who like this game are Blizzard fans. I for one am not a blizzard fan, well I wasn't. So unless you have a VALID point, please don't post.
I also encourage everyone else not to respond to this person, and just let the thread die, thus eventualy no one will read it ever again because it'll be on page 2.

Nah, it's just pointless to argue with ppl like that. Best not to let what they say really get to you in any way at all. People like Jutaro really do make ya wonder though. What are they trying to gain by going to a forum for a game they hate, and saying something they know will p!ss ppl off. Well just that, they want to upset ppl who like the game they dislike. Since after all, it's far easier to hate something, than it is to like something. So it may be easier for him to come here and 'hate' the game, than it would be for him to go to the forum of the game he likes and defend it as so many of us try to do for WoW.
I can't of course lay my word down on the line for any game, blizzard is a nice company, and they have won over my attention with WoW. Yet I want to see cold hard result before I turn into some sorta un-official spokesperson. These results will best be gauged by the # of hours of sleep I lose due to play time. How much will addiction > sleep/socialization be a factor.
See ain't it great though how I've gone without really talking about WoW at all though?
That's because you're right Ominis, but not just my post, everyone's post. Even more importantly, all the FAQ's and reviews out there, all the comments from the hundreds of CB testers. The information is readily available if one is so inclined as to seek it, and I'm more than content with summing most of it up for someone who's interested in the game or considering it, but for someone who just wants to flame the game, they're on their own, maybe we will be so lucky as to not see them in game at all.
Well there ya go, hope that helps settle things down a bit.
