is this going to be similar to star wars galaxies in which you need a architect to build you a house and you can place the house anywehre you want, and will there be player cities?

But to answer this one question, from what i've read on the FAQs, yes it will be similar to houses in SWG, you will need a player skilled in crafting of some kind to build you a house, and there will be areas where house can go and some places where they can't.
But I recommend reading the FAQs.

On top of all: You have the raiders. Since they group, raid, solo, Tradeskills, they "rightfully" are better then any non-raiders.
On second, you have tradeskillers: Since they group and solo as well as tradeskill. But since they don't raid, they will always be second toons in everything.
On third you have the groupers, since they also solo. But since they don't tradeskills nor raid, they are doomed to a 3rd position.
Finally, you have, at the bottom of the barrel, the ultimate trash, the soloers. Haha, must I really explain why they will lack in this game? They miss over 80% of the rewards, they will be a laughing joke, peoples will chuckles at their mere presence, pointing them as examples of failure.
Taken from Brad's personnal notes. See, all the fluff about spreading the loot is a conspiracy. Since raiders are groupers, soloers and tradeskillers...so they get ALL the loot. The more you go down, the more loot you miss. This chart is not perfect, but it sums it quite well.
If you plan on reaching the TOP of soloing or grouping, the answer is always the same: You have to raid or to accept to lack and never succeed.
