Not happy with the contest

RattrapRattrap Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 1,599
Yes, well - I didnt win anything. I rarely ever do , so no big news here.

But I must say - I am not so sure how fair contest was.

I , and many others registered for the contest the first day it was anounced , and as many other regulars of mmorpg.com

logged every day.

Yet , yesterday - my participation in contest was canceled - forcing me to reaply -

and reseting my visits to only 1 before the contest result.

This to my knowledge happened to few other people.

I know this was bug. And this things happen.

I know i wouldnt win anything anyhow...

But it does leave bad taste in my mouth.

and still 90% off those who win are from NA, this is bull .... excuse me, if you look at that list you will see something like 10 or 15 winner's from outside North America , i had enough is the n contest i participate and in each one is the same . If you want my opinion i prefer those Prints NA only at least i know i can't participate me and all the others from outside NA

Actually the number is 87(as of now, some still are unclaimed) which is round 32% who won and are outside of NA, not 10-15 and that is not bad at all. i dunno what is your problem at all.

I had the same reset issue as well as the original poster also signed up the very first day and i believe it was something like 3 days ago or so it was reset and oddly enough I didnt win anything on the first run either. Oh well, but just wanted the original poster to know that the reset was not as uncommon as you may have thought.

Yes I got "kicked" out of the contest too and didn't realise until a few days later! I think it was something to do with the website layout changed or the "big crash" thingy I don't know I heard it from someone.

I bet a lot of people didnt get to be part of the random pool, because of the odd reset of contest applications. To be sure i myself checked my participation yesterday and had to reapply...to bad for all the people who didnt, but hey...i probably wouldnt have won anyway

Not much to do about these technical hiccups, but to congratulate the lucky winners!

Thx to mmorpg.com for this huge contest!

Well, I lost my entry until yesterday too. I actually won, however. So I guess it worked out okay for me at least.

I got kicked out to and had to re-sign, that was like a few days ago, i havn't won anything from this site in years
  • derf26derf26 Member Posts: 123
Kicked out too and had to re-apply, didn't win anything (obviously).

The one time I did win something it was a beta key that I can only use when beta starts in about half a year, and what's more is the game says the beta will most likely be North America only. Which kinda sucks. Winning something that you can't use.

    Damn you!

Well i was kicked out too and had to re-apply (yesterday) and i just Won something, so you can see there is nothing wrong with it

Got kicked out, lost my bonus for being on this site every single day. Guess I will just do like the rest here. Being a loyal visitor will never get the same chances at winning as opening 50 membership accounts and never visit the site once. Especially if they reset the timer and throw all the members out of the contest if they are stupid enough to be on the site when they change the timer.

Cheating always seem to work better than loyalty

I won something  :) noticed the other day when I went to the contest thing that it showed I needed to enter contest and was worried about the log-in every day bonus thing but guess it wasn't a worry since I won.

i got kicked too and didn't realize it,this isn't just fair
  • DookzDookz Member UncommonPosts: 562
I was also kicked days before the contest ended. I didnt its significance until I read this thread. I thought it was normal and if I had touched it, it would affect my standing on the contest....I was definetly wrong.

Playing now: Cities: Skyline / Ori and the Blind Forest / Banished

I actually stopped applying for any contests that involve a physical prize, as the zboard i apparently won never made it to me, and i recieved no response to my email querying it. still go for things like beta keys and such though.

Nothing bothers me more than sore loosers.  You didn't win, get over it! There is no great conspiracy to keep you from winning, there were only so many prizes to start with. I am sure that " I Buy Power" wishes that it had the money to donate a new computer for each one of us, but they don't .... nobody has that kind of money..... EVEN if they did have the money to give everyone on the forums a new computer or some other prize, why whould they want to give it to dumb-ass people who cry foul everytime something doesn't go their way. Pulling that race thing REALLY makes me mad

HOLY COW, cry and get it the hell over with.

As of this writing, there are 507,939 members of MMORPG.com.

The contest was for 271 prizes.

Assuming that each person would only be eligible to win one prize, that means only 0.053353% of the userbase would win a prize.

It seems very plausible, in fact very likely, that there would be few-to-none winners in a particular region that does not constitute the majority of the members.

Relax, and don't take it too hard. The numbers weren't in your favor.
