Electrical Surge

Everytime i turn my lamp on while the computer is on i hear a crack or some kind of noise in the speakers.  Now when my volume is turned low, you can only hear the sound out of one speaker, then when im listening to whatever, it comes from the left and not from all around( I have 5.1 speakers) when i turn the volume up i cant hear a difference, anybody know why the speakers make noise when i turn the lamp on? anyway to make it stop? does it damage the speakers or anything else?

    Dont use your lamp.

Heh j/k.  Its just interference.  Sounds like your lamp is plugged into the same outlet or power strip.  Try plugging it into the wall if its in the strip or vice versa.

Those multiple outlets are probably on the same circuit as the lamp. Try either changing the power bar/strip or placing the lamp on a different circuit (however that would be in another room). It's definitely odd whatever the case, because lamps give out very low interference.
