May I ask how I am harassing him when it is he that is trolling the DDO forums harassing anyone that post in there? I have done my part to be a good citizen on this site and posted a lot of postings, but if you guys think it is more important to ban me for sticking up for a game that you advertise on the site, then so be it. I will be sure to drop a note to Turbine and let them know that you support their product by letting people blatantly post crap and then ban those that counter that crap.

Well the big deal is that this CaptainRPG is trolling the DDO forums and breaking the ROC and yet somehow he doesn't get banned instead when I stand up against him and stick by a product I like, suddenly I am being warned. Check out the forum and you will see what I mean. I am not the only one that is calling him out for his lies and crap.

Guess he must be buds with the DDO forum Mods or something.

I just think it is stupid.

It looks to me like they deleted just as many of his posts as they did yours, so I'm sure he got warned/banned as well. Just ignore him from now on. Believe me I've had my share of bans because I like to argue and I get carried away and start namecalling and stuff. I'm really trying to calm down a lot not because I'm afraid of being banned but because I get my blood preasure too high.

I know what you mean. Honestly it is just a matter of principle. But then again I guess all arguements are. It just bugs me that he has continued to troll that forum and been called out time and time by the others on that forum about his outright lies.

Sorry like you said I just need to let it drop, but it just erks me that he wins.

Yes, I reported him for derailing topics on his crusade to flame everything DDO and everyone that plays it. But nothing has happened. Instead I get a warning that I am harassing him. Maybe I am but I sure don't feel like I was. You guys can look at the forums and see what you think. If I was it wasn't meant as such. It was meant as a counter to his constant posting in every DDO thread within that forum something to bash the game.

While it is his right to dislike the game, he has went well beyond the point/counter point and went as far as time and again to call anyone that plays the game stupid and such.

ok i can see how you are mad ... you were fighting with a guy .. and you got banned or a ban warning at least, and you feel you had the just side ... well .. i wouldnt go posting anything here, its not going to help ...unless of course you wanted to further making fun of him which is ok ...

but if you were serious about feeling the warning or ban was unjust .. i would just write a private message to the moderator whom warned you and ask him to extend the same courtesy to captainrpg if they havent already ...

its like high school .. ever get into a fight in high school? doesnt matter who started it or who was right .. ya BOTH get suspended

Actually I was going to just keep quite about the warning as it was just that. The only reason I ended up saying anything was just on the principle that if you look in the DDO forums you will see that he makes it a point in every DDO posting practically to post comments trashing the game and those that play it. Yes I did argue with him, I was stupid there, and maybe we both deserved a warning. But to me the moderator(s) should have done something a long tirme prior because he clearly isn't just trying to state his opinions anymore. He is just trolling the DDO forums and trying to stir up stuff, which I guess worked since I was stupid enough to do something stupid like stick up and present the facts.

Well first if you reported him he may have gotten a warning same as you.

Thing is the mods are here to ensure the language and slings are clean.It really does not matter if you are a pro-DDO or anti-DDO you get same treatment .

Example.Say i post i think DDO combat is shallow and make a long speech but no insults.Then you come and post how great it is but then proceed to name me and call me say "fool".

Then you get the warning .Roles reversed - i get the warning.

So whether you are standing up for a game or against it has nothing to do with warnings been issued.Its the manner of the text in court here.

If you feel this guy has attacked you personally also then you should report it .There is a report button for every post .

Also its way harder to prove trolling then to prove personal attacks.Since its a generic forum it means it can attract both sorts- fanboys and trolls.Each can claim all he is doing is counter acting what he feels are "lies" by the other type of person.

If it was easy to just ban people for trolling trust me a good chunk of this forum users would be gone for over 1yr+ of "trolling" SWG.But then again to me fanboys are just as bad as trolls.

im sure no one will agree with this, but i enjoy trolls, i think they are a necessity in forums ..

without trolls message boards in general would just be a boring place ... the best way to difuse someones argument or trolling is to beat them in a battle of wits within the message board ... and get your point across

as long as what you are posting is how you truely feel .. and not some attempt to rile other people up ...

any wrong-doing that guy commits in that DDO forum should be combated with you and other fan's postings on how and why he is wrong/ immature .. and possibly clueless.. if the mods step in ... walk away and live to fight another day

That's fine. I respect your opinion. Just like I would respect his if he wouldn't go into almost every posting on that section and dig on the game and it's players. Stating opinions is one thing. Trolling to stir up arguments is another.

Yeah that is what I am going to do from now on. I may respond to misinformation, but I will no longer let him pull me into a one on one discussion. At this point I realize that I should have just left well enough alone. Standing up for a principle only will get one in trouble it seems.

There is always going to be somebody who is going to be hateful and bash an issue constantly when its raised. Personally I believe this is becuase the reasoning centre of their brain has rotted away due to prolonged exposure to their personality. But its widely accepted by philosophers and other lazy people who sit around all day, that due to difference of opinion, there will always be somebody who has an opposite opinion and no amount of discussion is going to dissuade them.

Swallow your pride, forget him and move on. Its hard, I know...
