There are several areas in which a game must impress me. Not too many. To be honest, only a few, but currently no game shines at all.
First, the graphics. It's really simple: characters must be sexy. Or at least, must be able to be sexy. I understand that some people likes to play a dwarf, or a peasant-looking sorceress. I refuse to do it. Here is where WoW falls for me. Sadly Vanguard also will fall. That toons just have no tits. Their faces are like zombie faces. I am sad. Your toon is somehow connected to you. Who wants to be ugly? I don't.
The following games have acceptable toons: Guild Wars, LineAge 2, Ryzom, City of Villains.
I also need character customization, which means two things: visual and skill customization. In Lineage 2, you may select between three faces per race and class. That's nothing. When you reach maximum level, you will have all the skills or almost all the skills in their maximum level. What is the difference between two spellhowlers? Nothing.
City of Villans (or Heroes) provides infinite variations of your look. Does it really? Well, all the characters look same. They all are extraordinary, they are in hot colors, but at the end, they all are superheroes. Well, I can live with it, I liked my toons, however City of Villains is not about skill customization. You cannot do anything but deal damage with your 1-2-3-4-5 skills.
In Ryzom you also can learn everything so in theory every high level characters have same powers. However, the skills are very complex and learning requires much time. In practice you character may be unique. And what to do with him/her? Killing the nicest beast I've ever seen. Let me tell that most os the Ryzom beasts I'd never kill but try to be friend with. I hated myself after slaying any of these dino-looking friendly animals.
Ryzom also steals your time. To be efficient you have to do a lot of things you may not like. Well, you don't have to mining and crafting if you don't want, however, you should, or the game will become very hard. That was my real problem.
Finally Guild Wars is almost perfect for me. I like the graphics, I could live in that world. The skill system is awesome, it is not comparable to other games. Maybe to card games. At the time I played it was also well balanced, and the game has several goals.
Guild Wars was really fun for a long time. The reason of I refused to play it anymore (even if it's free) is the lack of the Auction system. No thing can be so frustrating when your invertory is full with valuable items and you cannot sell them for reasonable price. I have no time to spam the trade or the general channel for hours to sell something for 100k gold. I also don't browse web pages to sell in-game items.
I heard that Blizzard bought the rights for Auction houses in online games. If this true then they shall burn in eternal flames forever.
Maybe Fury or Aion are for me based on the things above. I don't know.
Do you have any other ideas?
Sorry for my english.

I play Guild Wars also and it is very frustrating that they do not have an Auction House system, but maybe there are some reasons behind it. I dont know, since they are trying to push out expansion packs every six months they may not have time...

and if you only want tits, then you should perhaps try strip poker. or, um, ,maybe real life? besides, you mainly see your toon from behind anyway, so what's the difference?
I'm uncertain if you're a 14 year male who can't stand not being visually stimulated at all times, or an older woman whose self-image is either so poor, or so tied up in her breasts that not having a toon with big breasts is unbearable.
Go get a nude reskin for whatever game you want - you can alter the character models you see in anything, and I'm willing to bet any big game out there has nude reskins that you can find in under an hour of searching.
Oh, and I'd heartily recommend you not play MMOs. You want a game with sexy characters, skill based levelling, and don't want to spend much time.
Oblivion *might* work for you. But it too involves time. Because, here's the thing: Most people enjoy playing games, so like to spend time playing them.
Who am I?
@Lorechaser on CoH
Badjuju, Splinterhoof, Plainsrunner on WoW (Moonrunner)
Shyy'rissk on SWG (Flurry)
ClockworkSoldier, HE Pierce, Letnev on Planetside
Gyshe, Crucible, Terrakal on DDO
And many more.
Some people can not understand that others have different desires. To be fair, I follow the same pattern: maybe you want to watch a lean tabby in 4+ hours per day, because it's normal to you, but I don't, and it's not for me.
There is a proof that my viewpoint is not too weird: there are games out there which have amazing characters. What do you think, why?
And I tell you why not every game have amazing graphics: because it requires designer skills. It's so easy. Not every designer can create beauty models and animations. It is not only about tits. Have you ever watched Guild Wars environment? It has style. Maybe some ppl don't like it, but is it unique. And have you ever wondered on the animation of your Everquest 2 character? It is crap. I cannot understand how anyone can watch it for long time.
I can play with MMO without any graphics. I have played muds. No problem there. If I cannot see my character, I imagine him / her. But if I see, (s)he shouldn't be ugly. Because I won't like him / her.
So, stop labelling me, because I also have ideas why you can take with less than I can.
And about time stealing: maybe you have heard about "arcade game style". When you don't have to run two hours long to get somewhere. I see no point in running. (In real life, I see).
And lastly, these are my opininons and desires. Let's talk about games in this view, or even in your view. But my being is not your business.
I agree with you Veriel. Creating a character that stands out from the other avatars in a game is important. I dont necessarily want my avatar to resemble me but I do want them to be unique amongst the rest of you. Some may argue that what a character looks like is irrelevant to the enjoyment of the game. They may be correct, but not necessarily true. The fact is that no matter what an avatar looks like it is how they are played that makes them unique. Games are designed to entertain us and give us an escape from the real world. We cannot forget that we are role-playing a character.
I play Ryzom and one of the features that add to the game is character creation, and although the options at the start are limited there are hairstylist and tattoo stylist in game to help customize an avatar once in the mainland. It is true that all of the players in game grind to gain the same levels and titles but there are so many in Ryzom that not everyone is equally strong. Armor and other Items gives characters an edge, and if your guild owns an Outpost (OP) they have more of an advantage with OP crafted items. Knowing what items to craft in Ryzom does make a big different. Crafting is an art and not something that can be taken for granted in this game. To me Ryzom stands out from all of the other games out at the moment. I have not seen any other game out that offers as much.
Yes, CoV and VoH have a lot of option for costume designed but you are right in the end all of the avatars look the same. But I think this is due to the fact that most players tend to copy their favorite Hero/Heroine, although I have seen some very creative costumes. To me what makes CoV/CoH avatars look the same is their stance and body movement; they all run the same way, stand the same way, and fight the same way. However the game is a lot of fun if you have the right group to mission with. Sadly this is the drawback for me. I hate quest driven games; they are way out of style. We need new innovative ideas for game design these days.
Guild Wars has nothing I like. I do not like the design of the world and the avatars are a joke. Here is a game that missed the part about role-playing by 100%. Just about all there is to do is dancing; they do have some nice moves. However, GW is the perfect example to what I like to refer to as Game Clone if you played D&D, you will see similar features to GW especially their avatars. And there are other games out which names escaped me at the moment that have the same poor designed in character creation.
The upcoming games like Vanguard, 9Dragon, and LOTRO are unique in storyline but basically they offer the same boring quest driven grind that has been spoon fed to us all. None of these games hold their potential just yet, at least to me. Vanguard was exciting at first but after a couple of weeks I grew bored and tired of waiting for spawns because too many ppl are doing the same quests. The only interesting feature I enjoy was Diplomacy and riding my horse through its beautiful designed world. Character creation has an array of customizable selections but the avatars do look lifeless. However I wouldnt rule this game out just yet, it does have great potential to break the mold and be one of the top 7 in MMORPG highest rank list. I wouldnt hold my breath for 9Dragon and LOTRO. Those two are major disappointments from the start, starting from character design to PvE effects.
(for the those that have nothing better to say skip this post. if you are going to write something, write your opinion with points as to why he/she doesn't bring up a good topic. stop bashing)
I do know of an offline RPG. Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines. Heh, the cover of the disc case even has a vampire with huge boobs on it.
I can't find any good online games at the time, so this is what I play. One thing though, there is no character customation. What makes up for it though is that it's offline, no worrying looking like anyone else. Vampires are supposed to be seductive creatures, therefor, they basically are all, in some way, attractive characters. (except Nosferatu, disgusting..) Hell, theres even a character that is based around seduction and looks to beat the game. Toreador I think.
The game itsself isn't about fighting and grinding. It's about getting into the story, becoming the character. It's what a role playing game is about. Go and try it out, it's really fun. It's set in a very dark environment too, kind of like if the whole world was just gothic and vampires.
