Many choices how do i choose

 I need a good graphics card for computer to start playing some mmo's without lag due to graphics, so what do i go with? Nvidia or Ati? and which model.

     whats a good model for Nvidia? is the 7800 enough to play the graphics on high for most games?

    after looking at the price differance you should deffinatily glance at ATI cards... more vram with the same features for 1/2 to 3/4 of the price.  the thing is that you're going to have to do a bit more research esp.  heating, and compatiability.

     I'm sure my computer is capiable. I was looking at x1600 xt, is that a good match for the nvidia 7800?

    though I will say one thing,  when I'm shopping for video cards(and computer parts in general) I'm very lazy for it.  just go to my price range glance at the reviews and read them,  then in the case of video cards choose the one with the most memory(glancing at the GPU if theres a huge differance in price or memory),  and lowest price.( and of course making sure its an agp slot).



    reviews are genrally trustable as if I (or most people) have problems with it make sure they rant to some one.



    right now I have a nvidea 6600 with 512MB because I got it for $60-$70 some(no rebate either, but it was on sale)



    (the rest of my system is(that matters) is 3400+ amd and 1 gig of ram and I can run any MMO max settings.  and I fall within benchmarks of all of the newest games.  and any current or soon to be current game very comfortablely.)

    Well i would HIGHLY suggest the 7900GS... its the best sub $200 card in my book....

    If you want to go sub $300 then probably price/performance wize... go ATI... if you want the best best best go for the NVidia 8800 GTX its a beast... and not cheap...
