Paranoia MMORPG

If I would have to name one rpg I'd like to see remade to a MMORPG it would be rpg called Paranoia. Back in the 80's this game surfaced, and even though I only played it for a couple times it made a lasting impression.
Paranoia is a tongue-in-the-cheek scifi game about a future city ruled by a US military supercomputer gone insane. Everything (and I mean everything!) has a security rating and there is absolutely no sense how these ratings have been made. Secret societies (Communists, mutant organizations etc.) are illegal and of course everybody belongs to one, Everyone is also a mutant (possessing a mutant power) and if found out, the character is free to be terminated.
Each player plays a Troubleshooter (a problem solver) and they are dispatched to deal with various threats to the society by the supercomputer. armed to the theeth and backed up with several clones in case of most likely death :) they are sent to do mostly wacky duties involving gunplay and problem solving reqiuring some fun abstract thinking.
The catch of the game is that because of the security classification of everything and totally insane tasks the players need to team up to have any chance of solving the task, but at the same time each player has his own orders given by their secret society about the goal of their mission which always contradict with the other players orders creating an totally paranoid dobule dealing environment.
For example a simple go there and kill the monster -quest will turn into total chaos when done Paranoia style. Player A wants to save the monster from harm, player B wants to kidnap it for experiments and player C wants to feed the others to it and hide its location. Everyone has their mutant power as an "ace in the sleeve" though being catched and proved using it will mean instant termination as a bad clone. But first they have to get to it, and even that task looks impossible since the corridor they are supposed to travel through is guarded by ultraviolets and it has a red security clearance (it is painted red) and they are only yellow... Luckily a can of yellow paint happens to be nearby...
Cloning facility creates new clones when the true intentions of players will surface and the conclusion whatever it is is always unexpected.

Nice idea, but would suck as a MMOG. Repeat after me MMOG's do NOT equal a RP experience. For me, Paranoia was all about light-hearted, and wickedly funny role-playing experience in a dsytopian future.

I love the Cthullu mythos setting but as a MMOG it would suck Paris Hilton's ass.

Just because we loved the pencil and paper RPG's does not mean that they would translate into MMOG's.

I do actually like MMOG's but I don't equate them or enjoy them as RP experiences. They are separate and different (but equally enjoyable) experiences compared to sitting around feeding off someone else's imagination on the fly.

    Riotgirl

P.s. I will personally shoot any developer who thinks it would be a good idea to create a MMOG around the Cthullu Mythos.

"she's like this cleavagey, slut-bomb walking around going 'oh, check me out. i'm wicked cool. i'm five by five'."

"If you think I'm plucky and scrappy and all I need is love, you're in way over your head. I don't have a heart of gold or get nice. There are a lot nicer people coming up. We call them losers."

IF there were smarter people in the MMO world, then yes. But in this day and age, we are faced with a bunch of idiot, greedy, and slimey MMO players. So it wouldn't be any fun. But the game sounds cool, and if we had people who could think, it would turn out as an awesome MMO. Maybe to single out the dumb people, the company would require someone to take a basic knowledge test to register an account XD.
