"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

And why cant wow fanbois type in english?
You can't say a game sucks or so because you don't like it.
Eve is a very good game, if it won it deserved the price.
Its fair, if people didn't vote for other games don't blame the one who did.
Those who underestimate the power of the human spirit are destined to fail...
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
Its just not fun unless you don't mind watching your ship circle another ship for 10-15 minutes at a time slowly shooting at one another.

LoL this proves that you have never done any combat in eve. Combat lasts upto 30 seconds.
I was bored out of my mind, and yes it took about 10 minutes to kill 2 pirate drones. Perhaps the combat gets a bit faster later but its still boring nonetheless.
So PLEASE do not tell me what I have played or not.

Praise EvE!! Go mine Veldspar so the T2 BPO holder can earn Money!
So you never passed past the Tutoriall?
Well that explains it.
lol this thread is almost too stupid to reply to, but oh well..
i didn't really like Eve either and i've tried it for about half
a year
it has however my full respect, as it fought and won a tough
fight against vanishing into the void of space in it's early days
not only for that, it's vast, it's single server, it has a massive
player market etc. etc.
it's a quality game, you have to accept that
TBH, you have to spend time beyond the free trial to know what eve is like.
Buy a month, join a corp, train some skills, run missions, mine, buy a blue print and make some things, trade, become a pirate, become an anti-pirate (APs FTL though ;p), join an alliance, fight for your right to claim space in 0.0, mine the highly valuable ore in 0.0, kill NPC BSs with lots of good loot, become a scammer, infiltrate a corp and rob the corp blind, become a salvager, run a few complexes, do some wired COSMOS stuff, etc...
Whats best is you can do ALL of them. In most of the current MMORPGs, you have to decide right when you create your character if you want to be a blacksmith, leatherworker, knight, ranger, etc... then you can ONLY do these thing, you can ONLY learn these spells/attacks. A few month latter you might find out you dont want to do' this', instead you want to do 'that' and your forced to reroll your character.
A few thinks the game sucks because the tutorials too long. And I agree, it is too long, I felt like killing myself when I made a new alt ;p. BUT, it has to be long because of all the possibilities in eve. In some games, you become a necromancer and get the short 5 min necro tutorial, or you become a skinner and get a small few min tutorial. But in eve it doesn't force you to become just one of these, you can be a miner, trader, producer, NPCer, PVPer all in the same character, so to prepare you for MOST of these choices they show you longish tutorial covering most of the 'professions' you can be. But perhaps in the future there will be a window that you can check which ones you want to learn about.
But maybe eve just isn't for you. You can go play the other thousand MMORPGs with fairies and dragons, with no risk when you PvP, where you have to choose your class when you start playing and have to stick to that path, with childish community, with multiple shards, with almost no player driven aspects.
With a game like Eve, and unlike other MMO's you're not forced to play it for two weeks or lose out. Set a 15 day skill go on your two week holiday come back and voila. Your character has a lvl 5 skill trained up (almost) and a bit stronger than before. Leave a character on ANY other MMO and it's exactly the same as when you left it. Ho hum.
Eve is more about the people, who you meet, who you trade with, who you scam and vice versa. It's a great networking tool, and I suppose if you want to guage how succesful you could be at running your own company, doing it in Eve could be slightly cheaper, but just as hard work involved.
That's where I think Eve shines out. Sure being in empire for any length of time can be a bit boring after a while, so talk to people tell them what you can and want to do.
It's also the best game where the best planned and organised alliance will (probably) prevail. PvP means something, PvE will get you good things if you do enough of them, and most items on the market are created by the players for the players, so that's nice too. Unless some one else owns all the T2 bpos of course, which I'm SURE they do.
I like Eve, until something better in the same guise comes along, I'll be sticking with Eve. You like WoW. Good for you, I love the leeroy Jenkins video, so enjoy playing the games and have fun.
