Actually its a CORPG as stated in Wiki.
In April 2005, Guild Wars launched successfully, introducing a new financial model which might have been partly responsible for its success. Though definitely an online RPG, and technically having a persistent world (despite most of the game's content being instanced), it required only a one-time purchasing fee. It was also designed to be "winnable", more or less, as developers wouldn't profit from customers' prolonged playtime. Other differences compared to traditional MMORPGs included strictly PvP-only areas, a relatively short playtime requirement to access end-game content, instant world travel, and strategic PvP. For these differences it was termed instead a "Competitive/Cooperative Online Role-Playing Game" (CORPG) by its developers, and is now seen by some as occupying a new niche in the MMORPG market. With two million players as of June 19, 2006[5], Guild Wars is still continuously profitable (due to several expansions) and can be seen as a serious competitor to WoW.

I indeed assumed you didn't play GW. But thanks for clearing it up, its just that you don't know a lot about gaming. You don't even know what the term PVE means hahaha.You also state there is no lore, ever bothered to open up that handy manual of yours, where an entire storyline is written? Or maybe you should actually READ the quests and missions instead of clicking "accept" right away? my count for flaming? same as yours: once.

Thats actually pretty sad. Please get some decent knowledge of online gaming before you post any further rediculous topics like this. Guild Wars offers PVE. F A C T. You can jump up and down & from left to right, its FACT that Gw offers PVE, just like its FACT GW has a lore. This proves that you don't know a lot about online gaming.
CoX missions are all instanced and are 90% of what people do.
DDO has instanced missions, its 90% of what people do
DAoC has instanced dungeons, its quite common for pve.
EQ2 has instanced dungeons, high end raids, instanced dungeons such as nec castle. fg vault. etc
GW has instanced missions. Is being in Town hub 1 or 2, any different then being in uther or shadowsong in wow. In the long run, its really not that different, only you can move between servers. Or forming teams to go to a instanced dungeon. Again not really.
MxO has instanced missions.
Instancing is a thing of the future...expect alot more mmorpgs to have instances.
Is it really that much different then a mmo? The answer is no.
But the bigger question, who really gives a flying !@%!@%. Guild wars is guild wars, and its close enough to a mmo to belong on this site. If you don't like it. STFU and GTFO

Not to mention that the term "CORPG" has been made by Arenanet. Arenanet is the first company that labels its game CORPG. I seriously doubt that an Arena net employee created that wikipedia page. Especialy since it goes against Arenanet's own words that the game is not an MMORPG.
