ok, now i can finaly download the game...but i need something called ftp, dunno what that is. so i went and downloaded something called coffeecup ftp and im not sure how it works. any help with this would be greatly apriciated.
i can understand not sending cds, id rather download anyway honestly, but i dont see why it has to be from a site that i cant use my internet explorer to get to. hopefully someone will be nice enough to fill us in on how this ftp stuff works so we can get to downloading. i wish i had known id have to do all this before...i would have been more prepared
oh and this is only the start of your troubles sorry to say.
even if you are lucky enough to start the download on the ftp, it only allows 50 users at a time to download it. at one point durring the download i accidentally tried to start it again (clicked on the wrong ip addy) and it said that there were 490 too many users trying to access the site LOL. not very good. also if you get disconected or "dumped" from the ftp (happens alot) you get stuck in the line to reconnect, what is ment to be a short download for most turns into a day long event. they really really could have done better.
also the installer is in german (not french as another tester said) and for me crashed out four times befor i was finelly able to fully install.
im not sure why they are rushing this game into beta, from what i could tell from the ten minutes i could actually stand to play this game it isnt even close to being ready for any kind of open beta.
I used the AceFTP 3 freeware. It is kind of hard to use but after a few mins you will get it down. It works really good. Just search for ACE FTP on google
Once you find and DL Aceftp, you will need to "connect to an IP address" under the file menu. You will be prompted to enter the IP address (see your email from Ryzon customer service agent for that info) and your login ID and p-assword. Make sure you are NOT registered as an anonymous user on that screen.
Next, go to the edit menu and select "copy from right to left". This will begin the download. Took about 2 hours 20 mins will cable.
I also was frustrated with the download process. A friend helped me find a free ftp to be able to download the game. Then I couldn't download till the next day because it was full. The next morning I was able to start it when I left for work and when I got home I was able to install the game.
Problem now is, takes me several times to connect to the game. And when I finally do get in, I have no graphics. Where are the nice screen shots, not on my computer. I will head over to their forums and try to get help. Maybe I need a different resolution, I'm not sure. But this was a disappointment after all the hype, at least for me.
