Age of Conan and the Wii

Deathstrike2Deathstrike2 Member UncommonPosts: 1,777
I hear that Age of Conan will be released on XBox 360 in addition to the pc.  They should really consider bringing it out in the Wii too.  The game allows you to swing your weapon wherever you want with their active combat system.  How cool would it be to use the Wii controller to swing the weapon?  Of course, I'd probably be exhausted after a half hour of fighting, but wow, that would be fun.

Too bad that would require an entirely new graphics engine.  The wii isn't exactly cutting edge...hardware wise.  The 360 packs some horsepower, more than most current pc's.  However, the Wii does not.  Perhaps Aoc could be scaled down enough via the settings menu.

I highly doubt a port to the wii would even be successful.  The wii needs unique games made specifically for it, not bleeding edge DX10 mmorpgs.

The only reason I want to get Windows Vista is to play Age of Conan.  If they release it on the Wii, I won't even bother getting Vista.  Microsoft wants exclusive publishing of Age of Conan on Microsoft products in order to enhance its sales which haven't been doing well lately.

Age of Conan on the Wii would be awesome. But I think its pretty much impossible, considering the Wii's specs

Interesting thing to say, cause there already is a way to play EQ2 with Wii controllers, no doubt they would install and adapt the same thing in AoC.

Not only is the Wii system specs limited compared to the Xbox 360, but maybe just as important is the general compatibility of a game like AoC for a console that was designed to appeal to everyone.  Age of Conan is by far not going to be a game for everyone, starting with it's mature rating.  I honestly don't think that there will ever be a game for the Wii with a rating worse than PG-13

AoC will require Vista to play it? I'd be suprised if that was just from a joint marketing stratigy from Microsoft though, by itself AoC isn't likely to boost vista sales by much is it?

I really  wish people would research things, even a little.  AoC does not require Vista. NO GAME requires Vista, and won't for a long time to come. Vista has Directx 10 capability, which means unless you are going to go spend alot of money for a directx 10 capable video card, just stick with windows XP. Directx 10 games can be run with directx 9, you just don't get the extra little effects. Big whoop.

Well I didn't research it because I've no intrest in Vista or AoC besides the curosity if I'd read Cleffy II comment right.

(Looking back on it  I have to admit I misread what he said though.)
