    Yes, Vanguard is an extremely elaborate joke.  Tomorrow everyone will get emails titled Open Beta Notification and inside it'll say "Hehe, gotcha!"



    Seriously, don't judge the game by some random screen shots you saw from beta.

    It looks like crap but its running the most advanced graphics engine any MMO has ever come out with... Hah... Cute... But anyway... Explain your point. Is it the text? The text, as with most MMOs will be upgraded pre-launch.

    I'm not sure if the NDA is in effect but I'm in its closed beta and that game looks great even in the lowest graphics and the gameplay is fun as well,    you-------->....jk

    NDA goes down at midnight. Open Beta is rumored to go up tomorrow. The official forums is flooded with CB users saying that it'll go Open tomorrow... Unsure though.

    PS besides this is prolly an Beta 1 SS or something anyway.

    That's one thing I'll say though..I don't mind WoW taking a risk on art style...still can't stand the gameplay and can't find myself bored enough to ever play it again..but I won't crack on the art style..sometimes you take a risk.

    As for the graphics for this one..if the game has in it what I'm looking for..even the one pic he's complaining about is good enough for me to play it...I don't mind :)

    Yeah, I agree... Phase 1 SS more than likely. Wont know til the NDS goes down at midnight. Oh well, I dont care. I like how the game looks and what Brad McQuaid has shown in videos. Thats it. If you dont like the game, just have a big ol' cup of stfu and go play your lil cel shade raid-fest.

    That's right. No one is allowed to question the gift from God himself that is Vanguard! Go to their houses and break their fingers if you must, for none must deride the sacred game from Heaven. Clearly they are suboptimal human beings, and obviously they play WoW, even if they don't.

    Continue to ignore everything that does not praise the game, and march ever onward, blindly, towards the Rapture, true believers!

    Almost everyone thats been bombing on this game plays WoW. People that play other MMOs(EQ, SWG, FFXI, etc) all have high hopes. Its natural to assume that this person also is a WoWite. I will admit that I played WoW and for a while I liked it. But as I neared the higher level group, I saw the corruption. Guilds controlling all aspects of the game... Even manipulation of price on equipment and crafting materials. You couldnt even get a decent piece of equipment unless you went on daily raids. I left FFXI because of that reason. Spending hours just waiting for a mob to pop and a group of botting RMTers or elitists coming and stealing the monster.

    There are so many people that think wow graphics are superior.  I've played wow with maxed settings and I was far from impressed...  The graphics are decent but far from realistic looking... It's obvious wow didn't shoot to be realistic, that's where vanguard will excel!

    Bahahahahaha, you go WoW troll. I can tell you (because I've played them both) that WoW does not hold a CANDLE to Vanguard's graphics. I am playing in 1920 x 1200 Maxed and it is visually stunning. EQ2 was way better looking than WoW. As AnarchyArt put it  "A Bajo Kazooie multi colored world" is what WoW is. I don't think anyone is "suboptimal" for playing WoW if that is what they enjoy! I happen to hate WoW but to each their own. Vanguard has flaws and is by no means perfect, but it is what many of us have been waiting for. So you go enjoy WoW, and let us enjoy Vanguard.

    Sadly, 25 point font is as large as I can go. At no point did I laud WoW as being the greatest game ever. I don't even play the damn game.

    It's simply the fact that people can't seem to come up with a better refutation than "Go back to WoW" when someone points out something in the game that may or may not be a flaw. Regardless of how valid their feedback. Regardless of whether they may be right. It's always "WoW sucks, you are dumb. Go play WoW". Blind fanatacism does not make the game better. Not everyone that posts a criticism of the game is a troll. Or plays WoW. As shocking as it may be, they might just be looking to make the game better.

    Ok, but the point is, you dont seem to like the game mechanics of Vanguard, you seem to want a game LIKE WOW. So again, why are you here?

    The reason people get the "Go back to WoW" line is because something they/you (whether you play it or not) are pointing out as a flaw..is obviously looked at as a necessity by the creators..and since they have taken (what I hope) is a strong stance of not changing it into anything resembling the "peace of mind" of a game like WoW..it is pointless to point it out and state that the game will fail....some people prefer blonds some like brunettes..but not every chick is gonna dye her hair a certain color because you think one is more appropriate or looks better.  I think you are not seeing the plain black and white level of the fact.  Which is, if these are things that bother you..you MAY..JUST...HAVE...TO...GO...TO...ANOTHER...GAME...BECAUSE...IT'S...NOT...GOING...TO...CHANGE.  You see it one way..The Devs and hopefulls of the game see it another.  Savvy? :)

    Sorry, Im not much a drama queen and I'm too lazy to break out the font sizes and colors to help my point so I'll just leave it as is.

    Agreed. You might not play WoW but you're saying that anyone that likes the game and defends it is a "Acolyte of Vanguard" of sorts. If you dont like it, go haunt another forum for a game that you deem worthy in that little world you have where you are God or something.
