I hope you understand my problem. I am amongst the players of WoW. As such, I am often criticized or left defending this very popular MMORPG. Like every MMORPG I've played in the past, WoW is slowly but surely reaching the point at which I no longer find enjoyment out of it. Of course, this isn't because the game isn't fun, nor it is because of Blizzard.
The fact of the matter is that I will eventually want to try new things, regardless. So here's my question.
Should I wait on Warhammer Online or Vanguard? I ask this because all of the MMOs that people seem to praise are very...lackluster to me. EVE is a flight game (which I hate), AO is a kiddy fest, EQ I've played to the point of utter frustration, you can't jump in Guild Wars (instanced everything FTL), Horizons lets you play dragons, LineageII was too anime and kiddyfest, Maplestory was on a dare, Ragnarok was another kiddyfest, Star Wars was awesome for a while but now NGE FTL, Shadowbane is free and therefore kiddyfest, Ultima Online broke my MMO cherry and therefore is better as nostalgia, D&D Online just didn't cut it (too small and too instanced), Dark Age of Camelot was amazing AMAZING when switching from EverQuest (not so much when switching from WoW), EQII (haha yeah right), City of Heroes was a really amazing doll maker with limited gameplay fun or function.
I could go on forever.
Is there anything I'm missing? Is anything worth the "free trial" period? Is anything even worth looking at until WAR and V:SOH?
I'm stumped.

As for why I wouldnt start with Eve is because its too old. To survive you have to join a large alliance, and as I've understood you'll never be as powerful as the people who has played longer than you. Unless you "outskill" them, witch is unlikely as they have been playing the game for years.
