Even if it was today, people are overlooking the fact that the initial stress on the servers will be so great, that it will crash often and the login server/s will definately have problems. That's what the beta is there for to test. So regardless of whether or not it opens at the end of today, i have accepted the fact that i'll probably be playing tomorrow afternoon at best.

I receieved and invite Dec 28th and been unable to get access yet. The email says to complain if I don't have access by today, sad thing is the forum login is completely messed up for me.
SOE says it will be the 5th.
Although i'd love it if you proved me wrong. I just want to play ASAP.

If you're getting it from Fileplanet they have a slot system. Which means you want to get downloading ASAP or else you will have to wait a long time.

The thing I don't undestand is: do you have to be a member JUST to download the beta client? The reason I ask is that I managed to submit my email address and name etc whilst I was a non-member to Fileplanet. I then went to download the client and was told I had to subscribe. I subscribed and then downloaded it. I do hope i'll still receive a beta key even if I submitted my details whilst I wasn't technically an FP member.
Well im sure to get the client DL you need to be a paying subscriber to Fileplanet anyway (i tried using a direct link and still wouldn't let me). Which means you should get unrestricted access to the high-speed servers if this is the case, would be bad business if they stopped giving you what you paid for...the server access.
I'm DLing as we speak, at 118kb/s, the fastest my connection will go, so still going good.

I did the exact same thing. The email they send you is simply a notification that it's open. I believe in that will be a link to where you can obtain a key from Fileplanet, which may require you to be a subscriber at first. If they sent the keys directly to everyone that simply put an email address in, i'd recieve 3 keys (due to doing what you did) which would be stupid.
The client isn't the issue. Goto Fires of Heaven (sp?) guild website, they have a torrent for the client up there.
The issue is whether they will let all members or just paying ones get keys on the 5th, will be interesting as it will mean paying members would have gained nothing but a faster D/L speed if it's open to all off the bat. From what i've read though, it'll be first come, first served for free members, which i've seen before.

Ahh right, nice one! That's kinda what I was assuming. I submitted my email twice too, so I highly doubt I'll be receiving two beta keys, lol!
