Fileplanet Beta Keys

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
Anyone signed up via Fileplanet gotten a key yet?  They are usually pretty fast to get these things out since you pay for the ability, but nothing as of yet.  Prolly a ton of FP users though so I'll just need to simmer down a bit and wait =)

    I got the pre pack..but I also signe dup on file planet..which works similar to direct 2 drive site..in which you may have to actually log in and try to see if it gives it to you when you download..sometimes they dont email them out. you have to actually go there and log in and find it...this may not help, but offering an idea I can to help..I love when new people rush into a new game.  So exciting.  Sorry Im a goob.

    Pardon me, good Sirs, but didn't *everyone* say beta 5 (open beta) would have so many, all who are subscribed

    to the Vanguard forum get into it? I just read it was officially called "open beta", so how open is open? Open to all? Open to those who pay for some paysite??

    Any info?

    It is a little reminiscent of SoG, isn't it? Players paying to play an unfinished game - though hopefully Vanguard is a bit more complete than DnL was.

    Looking at FP's setup, it also looks like you have to remain subscribed to FP to keep playing the beta - beta keys expire when you cancel your subscription.

    They originally said 25k invites, now I hear it's down to 15k. It is "open beta" only in the fact that the NDA is no longer in effect.

    So it is really not an open beta then. hmm kinda miss leading then to call it that. Cuz when most people hear the term "Open Beta" they think they can get in. Now I know on the Vangaurd forums they said it was "Not open per se" but that is kinda hard to find out when the pages wont load. I know SOE dose not have alot to do with the control of the game but it kinda feels like the SOE curse is rubing off on this wonderful looking game. Dont get me wrong I think this game looks great and will do fine, just not a very good start. But then again it is still beta.

    GAAH why did you have to mention SoG! This damn game (D&L) is the reason I lost my faith. It is since them I am very suspicious in hypes of whatsoever. I guess none who played SoG and D&L will EVER look at MMOs with the same unsuspecting eyes.

    THIS TIME there is NO WAY I am going to pay a beta AGAIN, even if God himself made his new MMO "Reality 2".

    So I hope ppl get beta key for no money at some point. It is not the money. It is a matter of principles.

    That is kinda shite... Fileplanet subscribers *are* guaranteed a spot, right? I'd be majorly pissed if I wasn't invited after having subscribed purely for this.

    Open beta usually means that anyone and everyone can get in until they fill any user quotas they may or may not have.  Some sites such Fileplanet enter into agreements with different companies to allow their paying users in first.  9 times out of 10 when Fileplanets gets these types of betas they do eventually allow non-paying people to enter, but it can take days for that to happen.  I'm not the authority of if this is going to happen or not - just speaking from what I've seen in the past.

    This is the SOE launchpad version. Make a station account or add it to one you already have. You''ll need a key for this, but no fileplanet hassle. So basically, use the key fileplanet gives you, use SOE to download, and don't pay a dime

    I agree with you 150% on this.  DnL really messed me up.  Before DnL I would pre-order anything that looked like it would hold my attention, but now if I can't try it first I'm not buying it. 

    I am still kicking myself over DnL.  I should have listened to my inner voice.  for like 3 days I toyed with if I should buy it or wait , but in the end the screens I kept seeing won me over and just as fast as I entered my credit card info I lost that money forever.

    Live and learn I suppose.

    Thanks.  I had been poking Fileplanet for my key and wondering if / when it was going to get sent. ;-)

    you have to go to fileplanet and get the key yourself go to the main page while logged in and you'll know what to do

     I heard people saying the beta is only for U.S. residents and not Europe.



     What about Canada though? I don't want to waste money when I pay for a fileplanet account.

I can't seem to get one without paying for the stupid FilePlanet service. :/ Well, up until now, it was taking anyone as far as signup for the beta, you just had to be a subscriber to download it.  Now suddenly it says only FP subscribers will get in.  More Fileplanet bullshit. And people ask how I can hate FP so much

    Here's a reason to hate them a little more.

    While they've advertised the opportunity to get into the Vanguard beta for a week - if you hand over some money and subscripe to FP - today we find out they'll only make good on their end of the bargain if you live in North America.

    Ok so lets say I have a pre-order box key and a fileplanet subscriber key. Is there any kind of rule or whatnot about letting someone else use my fp key? Since I will not be using it?

    If the person you give it to is hyped up about Vanguard and actually wants to play it and also you know the person im sure it wouldnt hurt.

    initally the wording was that anyone just signing up to be notified would get in but now you must be a subscriber - fileplanet, a waste of bandwidth
