"personaly i dont agree it is not worth me paying $12 if u agree go here"
Well, almost all MMORPG's cost about 12 dollars a month. How do you expect them to continue running their servers? Oh you want them to pay out of pocket it for it... Yeah thats a brilliant idea. Dont be completely retarded, if you dont want to pay like everyone else, dont play.
City of Hero's Characters: - Black Samurai - Mezmo Man - Flare -
ok i get ya not all retard like you and me are willing to pay an arm and a leg for a game ok and 12 dollars is alittle much. i no they need money they r only just mult million dollar companys who charge $40-99 for a game that cost 12 dollars a month a server is not a huge cost get it now u do understand that other games do have servers and do not charge a dime extera so u being a ginea pig r will ing to give profit 2 an already profiting company they already made amasive profit on the game no go 2 your hole or where ever u came from and leave all us reatards live our forfilling lives and stop wineing
If you are referring to games like counterstrike etc. Yep, youre right, but those games dont add new content, have in game customer support, have multiple characters or have to save all your character info on their server etc etc. If you cant afford .50 cents a day to play a game then you shouldnt play games at all. And I dunno where u get 40-90 dollars per game, I've never seen one over 50.

No it isnt. Its the first Final Fantasy online. Great game though
i play on australian servers because racism is acceptable there
To each his own, though there are noobs in every game and that's no fault of the game itself. Forgive me, but if you're waiting an hour to get into a group you're doing something veeery wrong. If, in the very unlikely case that this happens, you should start your own group, especially as a black mage.
2. Tons of noobs now. Idiots who think that Black Mages are weaklings.
I hate when people say stuff like this. You were new to every game you've ever played at one point. I think it gives some sort of weird video-game-world superiority kick to denigrate others as "NOOBS" and isolate them as a problem in the game community. Seriously... judge the game on its merits. Don't judge it on whether or not you like the people who play it. *apologies for drinking and posting*
Actually a newbie is someone who is new to a game. A noob is just a clueless idiot who normally lowers peoples enjoyment of the game by doing and saying idiotic things.

Agreed
Grouping is too easy, guys...
Put your looking for group tag on, search for members, shout "I AM LFG! LVL X+! SEND ME A TELL"!

Of the approximately 50 people that would regularly play and party with in FFXI since release, only 3 are still playing. The number one reason among all of them was the inability to find a group after lvl 35 or so. 2 of my friends could speak Japanese and quickly made JPN friends who grouped with them off and on and they were able to hit 61 and 62. Once they hit that lvl, they couldn't find a group to save their lives and they quit because they weren't about to start the leveling treadmill over again for the 4th time.
On the Ramuh server (might be different on other servers) there are really only 3 zones that are populated with lvl 30-40 people. When you have your flag on for 3 hours, hit all 3 zones, shout for a group, talk to all the party leaders so that they know you're a white mage lfg and STILL not get a party after 3 hours.............there is something wrong with the game. And no, I didn't have a bad reputation. I had a VERY good one.
This isn't an isolated incident. It happens WAY too much to too many people. Read the intelligent constructive threads on Allakhazam's forums to get an idea of the scale of this problem.
FFXI is a great game for some people but don't sugar coat the problems it has. If you don't have a problem getting a group, good for you but you are the MINORITY.

Nope. I think we read it just fine. Also, it would be pretty silly to have an online singleplayer game...
EDIT: Ok, let me just say this one thing to eddie7. It's cool that you like the game. Really, honest to God it is. I'm glad you enjoy it and I don't have any sort of agenda to kill your enjoyment of FFXI. The only reason I get so frustrated in these forums is that SOME people aren't satisfied with just saying the game is fun. OH NO NO - we get "reviews" of the game in which it receives nothing but 10s in every category, we get people debating that a two year old port of a PS2 MMORPG actually has superior graphics to brand-new PC FPSs, and yes, we even get you claiming its the first online multiplayer game ever. Honestly, just enjoy the game. For example, I play AO, I like AO, I support the game... but it's sure as hell not perfect and I'll be the first to tell you that. Just drop the fanboy bull and you'll sound a lot more reasonable. Always.
If you are a Final Fantasy fan then yes I believe the game is worth buying. I purchased the game the day of the North American release and really enjoyed it for the first few months. After that I lost interest because it is impossible to solo at mid and high lvl's. I like parting but I ran into the same problem that allot of people have mentioned. Typical night would be log in at Jeuno (area where most mid and high lvl parties form) and put up seek flag for 2+ hours. Even send tells on local channel Dark Knight lvl 47 looking for xp party (using auto trans. so that Japanese players could understand too). Usually I would finally get a party but by then I would only be able to play for a couple hours or so before I had to go to sleep to get up for work the next morning. This cycle got old really quick. With the PS2 release and as more players start to play this problem might not be as bad but who knows. I wish FFXI would put in something like a tournement of champions in the major cities where any lvl could go and complete solo vs. mobs or pvp (there choice). Make it similar to how it was done in FF7. Def. put one in Jeuno and allow players to compete and have there seek flag up at the same time. That way until they got a party they could do something fun and get xp/items/gil. Even though I am currently not playing the game as often as I was for the above reasons and some other reasons I still would recommend the game to Final Fantasy buffs because I did enjoy the first few months. I still have my account active and will keep it so for a while hoping things will get better or until a new game comes along for me that I like better. Hope this helps some.
Don't worry about it man. I'd definitely be willing to give it a second chance if I had some assurance that things had been fixed or improved. If I did go back to the game, what race/class do you consider the most fun to play? I won't be back right away, but maybe an expansion or some new features could convince me. Anyway, have fun playing. You don't need to convince anyone that it's a good game. If you like it, that should be good enough. After all, we are ALL entitled to our opinions, and that definitely doesn't exclude you.
well if your going to give it a 2nd chance...i would go with mostly taru...people love them(especially womens ^^) plus their easy to party for some reason??
if your an entertainer then a taru is your type of class...i think that last words should make more sense then the top..

Amen to MrVice. The grind is definitely difficult to get away from in MMO's. I love the FF series, but my devotion isn't fanatical to the point where I'll play when playing isn't fun.

Some people are charging money for "new" CS mods to put on servers. Thats ludacris.

I didn't like this game. Here are my reasons:
1. Way too tedious. Leveling is supposed to be slow in MMORPG's, but this is ridiculous. "The leveling treadmill" is torture.
2. Tons of noobs now. Idiots who think that Black Mages are weaklings.
3. The game is just boring. It's ridiculous that a Black Mage (a job in high demand) needs to wait an hour to find a party.
