Does anyone know of a...

... game that is a lot like Asheron's Call: Dark Majesty?  If not... are there any that are a little bit like Asheron's Call or Asheron's Call 2? Doesn't matter whether it's in beta, free, pay or anything.

Anyone?  Anything? Or are there no games like Asheron's Call?

The question you are asking would take a book to answer. Like how? The community? The quests and treasure? The spellcasting? The skills? Are you looking for something exactly like AC? Why not just play AC then?

I have my own reasons that I can't play AC.  I liked the way they did the movement and skills, along with the story and the world... I'd like a game exactly like it, but if not, close to it, or maybe just a game with movement and skills like AC.  Just any game like AC.

Just so you know, that reason is not that I was banned, or anything like that.

Ok, I guess there's not a game like AC.  Here's the problem:  I was homeschooled last year and the year before.  Last year, I kinda got lonely and started playing online games and going to online cahts when I was supposed to be doing school work.  I played a little Asheron's Call, but mostly a small game that I liked called Toadwater.  I got behind in my work and my mom found out.  She said that after I got through the rest of the school year I would probably be able to play AC again.  After a week or so of catching up, working 2-3 hours longer per day, I started playing this one game during school hours (I know, I know... I shouldn't have, but she grounded me from computer games and I couldn't resist).  But, when I went to bed that night I couldn't go to sleep for the guilt of doing it again, so I talked to her about it.  She said she's glad I talked to her, but for doing it again, she'd take away my two favorite games until I graduated from High School.  I'm a Freshman right now in HS, almost a Sophomore, so it's still 3 years.  I want to either play a new game like AC or negotiate with my mom. Maybe if I offer to do more chores or something she will let me.  I'll just have to see what I can do, I miss AC so bad...

    You know, that "AC1 feel"?

(Sorry for grammar, I'm typing it fast).

Would your mom approve of you posting your life story to complete strangers?

I doubt she'd mind me telling things like this, but she would if she knew it included her like this...  It's not my life story, if that were all of my life, I think I would have already shot myself.  It's just a very small portion of it.

hi I have played quite a bunch of MMOGs latlely and apart of not being like AC1 they where outright bad. I to liked AC1 very much and sometimes I regret leaving it.

I am hoping UXO mite be an feasible option for me it has quite a few feature that a an precondition that i even look at mmog like feasible solo play, loot system and so on.

I was hoping for Mythica of MGS but sadly they canceled that so its ant least until Semptber (UXO) for me Dungeons Dragon Online (2005)sound also fine even if it  comes from Turbine.

Also Gary Gygax's Lejendary Adventure Online mite be an option but i am not sure if it get released they keep saying so but shrug no realy proof of that.

Not much esle is left on the plate for me. Hope that info interested you. have fun.

The question you ask is quite broad.  There are tons of games like AC, then there are none like AC.  It depends on what specifically you mean by "like".  (Is is just me, or do I sound like Bill Clinton there?)

If you are looking for a MMORPG that is like AC, you may want to look at EverQuest or Dark Age of Camelot.  Both of these are older games that have large, established communities and use a medieval/fantasy setting.  You may also want to look at Final Fantasy XI or Ragnarok Online, both of which have high user populations.

There are several upcoming games, including Lineage II, EverQuest 2, World of Warcraft, Ultima X: Odyssey, and Guild Wars.  None of these are in general release at the moment, however.

I would suggest you peruse MMORPG.com and read up on the various games.  Find a couple that pique your interest and ask specifically about them.

Man this stinks, my system can't run any games except AC, UO, Original DAoC, and maybe a few older games.  UO sucks in my opinion, and in DAoC, I'm tired of doing the same thing over and over and over and still only reached level 27.  Can't play AC.  Can't even get into Horizons because of graphics card (I think). Tried just about every trial there is, just to find out my comp can't run it.  So now I'm bored out of my mind.

It makes no sense to be prohibited from playing AC but allowed to play other MMORPG's. Regardless, you will never have substantial options or a satisfactory gaming "life" until you 1)gain personal freedom and 2)earn a living. Therefore you are pretty much screwed until you move out after high shool and get a full time job. However, I suggest you reason with your parents. Make a deal with them that you just want to play one good game 1 hour a day. It doesn't matter what game they allow you to play, because no matter what game it is, if you play too much, it will have the same negative result on your education. Any time they catch you playing more than an hour a day, you can't play anymore for a month. And also, mow some lawns so you can buy a good graphics card. These are rocky paths but you don't have many at your age.

    no no no...

You have to learn to tame your parents. Just do everything they don't want you to do until they are glad to have you home at all.

Then, if playing a game keeps you home at night instead of laying drunk and half-dead in a field somewhere, they will gladly let you play.

I typed a big post and it didn't post it...

Anyway, I'm going to get to the point. feedtherich is wrong, I to am a freshman in highschool and know that it has many rocky paths.

You should sit your mom down and tell her "Hey mom, I'm homeschooling and I therefore get very little social interaction. Asheron's call is a way for me to interact with people and gain social skills, maybe even make a friend or two. Now, unless you want me to grow up and have no friends or social skills, please think about letting me play this game.". That should work, unless your mom's evil. I know my mom would listen to that. Since I'm sure your mom probably isn't evil, and is just concerned about your grades and doesn't know any better, I'm sure it will work.

My mom doesn't have to worry about me going out and getting drunk.  Never had any alchohol or drug or anything, and I don't plan to for quite some time, and maybe not ever, depends.  She has me home just about all the time already.  I do my chores every day.  My mom is very reasonable, but whenever I even mention playing Asheron's Call she shoots it down saying, "That was an awful thing you did to abuse your privelages."  Without even listening to what I have to say, but if she listened to what I had to say then she would probably let me.  Every time I get the perfect opportunity and am about to ask, all these thoughts about what she might say or do pop into my mind and I back down.  I'll get it out sometime during spring break most likely...

Every report card she tells me that she's proud of me but yet I still can't play my favorite game.,AC... and AC wasn't even the game that I played, I played it every now and then when Toadwater was down, but not much.
