Tiny community? or massive?

Ive never played COH or COV but i well be trying the free trial shortly. i wanted to ask anybody if it is a WoW type thing and consists of oveer 3+ million people or is it a few thousand people?

Definently not WoW scope, but not an empty world at all, either. There is always a handful of people in any zone despite the instanced missions, and while finding competant groups can be hard...hey, at least you can solo.

I would recommend the "Freedom" or "Virtue" servers, as they are usually the busiest.

I would define this community as: Awesome.

Tiny? Nope. Massive? Not really. Just plain awesome. You know most peoples on the server, you group most of them, really it is just that great!

So what most of you are saying that it's just the right amount of people? not to many to be laggy. Not to little to be a deserted game.That's great, i hope i enjoy the game after this 2 hour free trial download

Yeah size aside, it's still the biggest of the best communities. ... that may be because it was formed from older Comic fans instead of just the usual swarms of rude pasty gamers. I'm not a comic fan myself, just your run of the mill jerkwad gamer, but the folks I've met throughout CoH were inspiring and the community leaders are all incredibly creative, friendly, and humorous folks. I've really missing 'em all ever since I had to give it up, infact the awesome community was the only thing that really kept me around for so long when I got tired of the content.

Depends which server you're On. But yeah, the Colossal Dickhead frequency is very low... on the right servers, you can go whole months without running into the usual flaming buttholes you find everyday on BNET

come on ppl, wow massive? 6 millions+ ppl? how many server holds? like 5-10k, per both sides, i played on servers that are "low" population, and only places you see ppl are either bots farming popular spots, or capital cities.
but come aside that,
i think its pretty nice in CoH/CoV , since its likely to be more mature community (oh yeah, with heroes, kids would be ashamed to be a hero nowadays.) so... im downloading client to get another chance to play the game, usually all other times i quited because i wanted WoWs lazy single player one way going gameplay, but oh come on, you know thats what MMOs were against , but oh well.

Same frequency of tossers as every other game. But /ignore sems to work fine.

Very true. I've had an active account since pre-order Beta, and in all that time I've had to put one person on ignore. BTW, I play on the Virtue server.
