Returning FFXI player

in Final Fantasy XI
 Hi guys, i used to play ffxi and want to return but i cant seem to find all my discs for the pc, i can only find discs 2-4 which realy sux for me. So i was wondering if there is any site where i can pay for a direct download of the game or if any nice person could hook me up with a buddy pass since there seems to be no trial of this game that i can find.  Any help would be great.

    they have this stupid system where if you dont use your account for 3 months your acount gets deleted so you have to basically buy the game again. on nov7th they are coming out with a new box that has all the new expansions on one dvd so you can get that to play and it has a month of game time and a pass to give to a friend for 29.99

    No, they have this stupid thing where if you cancel your free PoL Account or Delete your characters (Two things in which you don't need to do if you quit the game) And wait longer than 3 months, you must buy another copy of the game.

    Your Free POL account will remain forever (Or untill you cancel it like a Idiot), And your Content ID's (Thse are what you cancel when you quit, You don't delete your characters) Will remain for 1 Year. (You can recover them up to 1 Year after they're canceled)

    As stated the Vana’diel Collection 2007 comes out Nov. 7th, It'll include:


    • The original, award winning FINAL FANTASY XI game, including FREE 30-day subscription

    • Rise of the Zilart expansion pack

    • Chains of Promathia expansion pack

    • Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion pack

    ok, i have a good question then, maybe you guys could help be4 i go calling SE which for me is a pain.  here is my situation.  I quit about 7 months ago, and yes it is true you have up to 1 year unless you are dumb and delete your char and stuff like previously stated. But where my problem is, is that i only had Rise of the Zihlart and Chains of Promatia, and I played on PS2 only then.  Well since that time i have got rid of my PS2 and got a Xbox 360.  I have tried many MMOs since then, and cant find any that I like atm, some that im anticipating, but none that I can get into that have been release.  So my question is, can i just wait for that pack and get it and get my chars back, or would that do me no good.  Its kinda confusing because i know you have to register the discs and stuff, or at least I did before.  So please help me out if you guys could.

    well Mr.Telaki I played at launch which was a very laong time ago and when I played thats how it worked. Thanks for clearing it up for people who have played in the last year :D.


    Now in response to the last post, I wouldn't get your hopes up but it might still be there. I love SE but any system that deletes anything is a bad one when WoW always keep all your characters forever. I'm hoepfully starting on nov 7th also so if they deleted all your stuff just start over with me and everyone else, I hear fenrir is the server to go to.

    If you remember your PoL ID & Password you should be in the clear. The Vana'Diel collectors edition is on PC, You mentioned Xbox 360 So I dunno if you know its on That aswell (And been released for awhile now).

    On PC anyway, you start by installing PoL, After than you do the expansions. Boot up PoL the first screen has 2 options" I'm a new member" & "I'm an exsisting Member" Since you have an account on Ps2 You click the second option then go through and fill out your info, Update, etc.

    I do not belive that you can use expansions cross platform, Now I mean, Your account is Ps2 and you said you only have the first 2 expansions, Buying the Vana collectors edition You can install all the expansions on your PC, But you cannot use the Registraion Codes from PC ToAU (3rd expasnon) On your Ps2 Account. You'll need Ps2 ToAU for the registration keys.

    ty very much telaki, that answered my question in full.. thanks for taking the time to help.  as for the previous post, man i love FFXI, but there is a 0% chance I would ever start over >.>.  I have/had way to much time invested in this game.  Had a level 75 Paladin 75 Dark Knight 75 Warrior, and then many other jobs in the 50's and 60's.  It is a great game, but I wouldnt start from scratch again.. not to mention my char  has around 100 million in gear on and about 50 mil to spend... and some awsome rare gear... lol. Just way to much to start all over in the same game.

    LOL! Squares just after your money. You should have got the hint when they said $13 a month for the game but 2 for POL a month and you cant play the game without it. and an extra 1$ for another character.
