What exactly is the definition of "fanboi"? Isn't that someone that overhypes a game? To me a fanboi is someone that only sees the good things they wanna see and refuses to acknowledge or admit anything is wrong. The only fanbois I've seen in this thread are the people saying how much they loved that trailer, but refuse to acknowledge that it was actually quite mediocre.
If you can't tell by character animation , the level of detailed in ever swing of the sword and how it actually looks like it cuts into the body as well as the first person archery system then you are freaking beyond the realms of what could even be considered innovation .

I'm a huge Conan and Robert E. Howard fan. Can't wait for this game. I'm just afraid all the leet dudes and phat lewt hunterz are gonna ruin the experience for me
Unfortunately, the leet dudes and phat lewt hunterz make up a large part of the market now, so if AOC does well, they'll be there.
The graphics and style look very much like DDO IMO and a world away from what I have seen of Vanguard.
It does look interesting and is probably the only game I would look to play alongside DDO.

Hmm, Funcom could have done better with that trailer. They have better graphics available than that, we know it and have seen it.
It looks like for whatever reason they deliberately turned down the performance for those shots

First DX10 Footage of Age of Conan from CES. This was captured offscreen via cam. So its not a 100% accurate depiction of the lighting n stuff. DX10 was ready just in time for the show. So its still being worked on quite a bit. Please take what you see with a grain of salt as this is not final.
This is a gameplay trailer, where the player is a DEV, is on God mode, has more armor than you should in that region oh and doesnt play all that good either.
Currently waiting for the MMO industry to put out something good.
Age of Conan is definetly exciting, almost as exciting as Ragnarok Online 2; but slightly more exciting then Granado Espada which earned it it's place in my anticipated about games I made months ago. What I like about this game will be the lack of Wizards. I think Wizards ruin all other classes since whenever they are in a game, they typically are overpowered.
I watched this trailer from a completely objective standpoint so my opinion is not based on bias for another game, or hatred of a studio. That said, I think the game looks pretty interesting, the combat seems fun, and the graphics look pretty awesome. From the screens I have seen I thought the character models looked horrible, but in action they arent all that bad. My main complaint about them was that they had that "Clay man" look similar to EQ2, or Vanguard.
I prefer stylized graphics like the ones in WAR, or WoW because they really give a sense of a self contained world. These new "hyper realistic" games lack the cohesive feel necessary for proper immersion into the world. Like AoC for example, the world looks stunning, but the characters look like plastic dolls. It just doesn't fit, and that makes me not feel like the world could be real.
BUT I will give it a try with an open mind, and form my real opinion once I have something real to talk about.
Looks very nice. And for the one who said that it's mainly singleplayer: Get your facts straight. It's only the first 20 levels which is attained pretty fast. And rarely no one groups in the starter area anyways so who cares?
OMG, now that is a game. I was excited before, but I am drooling now. Even in DX9, it looks FAR superior graphically to any MMO I've ever seen. If the gameplay is just as good, this will be the one for me.

I played AO, whiterrabbit - rk2, aka reelbigfish. AO destroyed my faith in F.U.ncom, waiting months for critical balance fixes, bug fixes, content. delivering buggy code then going home for the weekend. (12.6)
Nah, ill buy AoC and play it for a bit, but if it plays how it looks, i dont think ill be around long.
