Can't We all be friends

Im tired of reading the posts that trash the games people like. For example if someone posts how much they like WoW or any other mmo most of the replies are people flaming that game. And vice versa ,if some one makes a topic saying they like another mmo over another there is a bunch of people calling him an idiot. Like if i was to say I think WoW gets boring and i like SWG better (which is true), i would most likely be called a dumbass for just saying my opinion. I know some people are rude and some of them deserve to be flamed. But can't we all just live together and be friends.

I'll be your friend. The voices say they'll be your friend too.

I'm buying what your selling. After all we all either love MMOs or love the idea of what the have the potential to become.

i agree with you about WoW gets boring BUT i do not agree with the fact that we should all agree. The whole point of these forums is to state our opinions, We are supposed to argue and debate about games. If no one flammed then there would be no point of flames.

However it would be nice to stop using the word "noob" but gamers will be gamers

No i was just saying i wish people would stop calling each other stupid. The could say " Well i disagree with you". Know what i mean. Like i could say so many things about WoW right now but like how it has no replay value and after 60 there is nothing to do cuz Pvp is boring after a while.

Forums are here to post opinions and ideas. If you post your opinion, you are inviting others to post their opinion about your opinion. Depending on the maturity of the poster, it can be a very constructive or destructive opinion. Usualy people are very nice and mature here, thats why I like MMORPG.COM. It used to be fairly bad some time ago, but the community here matured nicely and lots of flames are filtered out quickly.

I still feel that if you have played WoW for an extended period of time your opinion on any other MMO is null and void.

Wouldn't anyone who has not played a game for an extended period of time not be able to form a truely valid opinion on that game(due to the old "it really starts at level 80" argument)

So obviously (since you sit on the opinion high ground here by your own implicit claim) you spent the extended period of time in WoW necessary to form an opinion of the game, so that you could in turn form an opinion of the people who play it.

Therefore your opinion on any other MMO is null and void by your own logic.

Unless of course you didn't play WoW for any real amount of time and you are presenting a rule based on an uninformed opinion, in which case the rule is probably not a very good one.

I dont think people hate each other really but what you see is a case of people who love tjher games and love to defend them and people who love to degrade othergames and cause flame bait.

Hey Carebear, if you can't handle this forum then go back to the "I <3 Freindship" forums and leave this forum to the hardcore posters.  'Nuff said.

Why does WoW always have to be the game that people put as an example? Damn you WoW for being so popular!

I want to play Scions of Fate Duhh... oh and Go mmorpg.com!

sometimes i wonder if the bashers think before the type or even read what they type. the number 1 complaint about wow is the community, yet look at the garbage they post on forums about how much they hate the game. they sound exactly like the people they are complaining about. give me a break and stfu already.

I can easily agree with the poster. I don't think he's being a carebear at all, as some have implied. We all like different things. Variety is the spice of life. If we all liked the same spice, the price would probably be too high.

If you don't like something, say what it is you don't like about it. It does no good to flame people who have different opinions. Their preferences in no way implicitly insult you if they happen to be different from yours. You can't scale all things on a single axis. The world is multivariate and non-linear. It has not been reduced to a single equation, at least none that any human can comprehend.

On the other hand, trying to be analytic about what you like and don't like is very helpful to others. It gives everybody a way to compare notes in a meaningful way. You may actually inform someone about something that they find useful. Showing that you are an asshole is not very informative; many of us take that for granted, if only for the opportunity to be pleasantly surprised when proven wrong.

I have to say you are right.  People flame WoW lovers and anyone who likes SWG.  Other than that it seems pretty reasonable.  I love MMO's and so does everyone else on this site.  We just need to remember that.
